That’s not a problem since you can still use the OG! I upgraded all of mine to ”X” but all the legacy plugins are still installed so I’m glad that NDSP gave us the ability to keep both.
with all these examples i preferred nolly x. it sounds so much more like what id expect out of real amp or the quad. different strokes for different folks i guess
I noticed the difference too, but it's nothing to worry about. None of my clients have had any issues with the tone in their recordings, either before or after the update. I believe the small difference is worth overlooking when you think about the awesome new features Nolly X brings to the table, like the new OD mode, transpose, and Cabs. My advice to anyone considering buying Nolly X: don’t hesitate. You’re getting an incredible plugin, and that tiny tone difference-about 2%-won’t really stand out, especially in the mix. Cheers from Puerto Rico! \m/
Which makes a ton of sense given the differences you described. You're feeding the amp a signal with a lot less high end, but a lot more volume, so of course it sounds muddier on palm mutes with the extra gain and reduced clarity.
@@iurigrang Idk if you actually bother watching the video but I actually did account for the tone pedal. 1:48 I go over it and talk about it. It may not be exactly the same positions but its close enough and shouldn't have that huge of a discrepancy. Also, my overall point in the video is that preset that you take time to make shouldn't have a punch of knobs and positions changed.
I know they changed the overdrive and it has a bright knob. Habe you tried it without overdrive engaged? But I guess due to tweaking it will be possible to get nearly the same sound.
Yeah. Nolly X sits in the mix better. Or sounds shrill and terrible. If you hate it or think it is broken. Just keep using the old one. It is not like they made you uninstall it. 🙄
Just time align on two seperate tracks and flip the phase, if you hear anything, that is the difference between the two.
Deadass really good advice

The Qs on some of the EQ bands are different now, so your custom EQ is just not the same as it was. Also there’s lpf and hpf on the EQ now.

I still prefer nolly x I hear more clarity in that one
I feel like they stated they redid the cabs. I haven't noticed a difference, but I tend to use external IRs

The tone and level knobs on overdrive 1 changed positions, you didn't really match their settings

Have you tried both with the same external IR? Maybe they've changed something in the cab section
Great idea, ill give it a shot!

Yup, tried it out didn't really do much to get back the original sound.
Are they both on the straight v30? The new one has an sm57 on the angled speaker
2:25 I go over the cab section

Is there an impedance option?
There is not
