Hi everyone! This is a virtual walking tour of Madison, Wisconsin! The walk mainly goes through the State Street district, and also cuts over to Lake Mendota.
Likes and subscriptions are extremely appreciated! Much more content on the way of Chicago and other major cities!

me and my highschool friends used to hang out on this street nearly every day, the amount of memories and nostalgia i get from this brings me so much joy
Madison is so peaceful compared to other U.S. cities yet still very lively. Such a beautiful city.
Couldn’t agree more! It is a really lovely city and so underrated!
Lived in this city for 5 years. 🥰 Loved it there.
Nice virtual tour!
I could enjoy watching this with the feeling as if I were traveling there!
Thanks for sharing this good work!!
I'm glad you enjoyed watching! There are plenty more videos on the way! 👍
UW Madison alumni here. Loved it there in the 80s
Such a great college town!
I watched this video cause I'm thinking of taking a weekend trip to this town. It looks like a great place to explore.
It really is a great city! Very under the radar to people outside of Wisconsin. Lots to do!
We moved to Madison when I was like 10 in 1980 from Chicago. We moved back to Chicago in 1984 and I have not been back to Madison since. Would be curious to come up and see how different I am sure it is since then
It has definitely changed a lot in the past few decades, but many of the classic aspects have remained the same! Thanks for checking out the video 😁
Please do a follow-up to this video-- but during the summer or some other warm weather!
Great idea!
My best friend's girlfriend recommended moving to Madison, Wisconsin in the future. At first, I just assumed it must be another mid-sized dystopian looking car dependent american city but I couldn't have been more wrong. I am actually really impressed by Madison and would love to go there some time.
It is a really unique place! It's much more than just the university, it's very different from most cities in the midwest
Downtown is really walkable friendly and the transit service is great. It becomes a problem once you get out about 15 minutes away from downtown which becomes a problem.
@@learntostrafe Yeah, that is obvious haha.
@@learntostrafe I am more impressed by Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. What are your thoughts on it?
@@sajanaryal6932 I’ve never been to PA but I’ve seen videos and it looks great. If you want another walkable downtown city to look at I would recommend Milwaukee WI.
I was there in 1970 when I was 22. I'm so homesick.
Its always here if you are able to come back! Although it has changed quite a bit in the past few decades. Thanks for watching!
👍🏻
Thanks for watching!
me watching this video: OMG this is so cute wtf !!! is this in the US??? OMGGG
is this city safe?
I would say relatively safe, yes
A beautifully designed midwest city that's both quiet and safe and lively and very family oriented in safe and beautiful republican state like Wisconsin
Madison is like if Minneapolis and Chicago had a baby.
I've never heard that comparison before! I have not spent a great deal of time in Minneapolis, but I can see what you mean based on the aesthetic of the two places!
I don't think Madison is anything like either Minneapolis or Chicago. For one thing those are much bigger cities.
Madison is a clean, beautiful, relatively crime fee city. However, the present Mayor has sold out the city to rich developers who have built super ugly housing pens. The look of the city is changing for the worse. Plus, there are constant loud polluting military F35 planes flying over. It doesn’t bode well for the future.
Increased density & infill development is good. I'm glad we have a mayor that is loosening zoning away from single family / residential only & increasing the housing supply. But the F35s suck. So I agree with you there.
No cars! I guess you have to walk.
State Street usually closes off for pedestrian traffic when it gets closer to the evening. When the nightlife is in full swing, it would be pretty difficult to drive a car through there. Another tough thing for drivers in Madison is parking. Spots can be hard to come by.
@@CityWalkerMT So happy to learn that cars are restricted in Madison. This should be implemented in every city!!
@@sajanaryal6932 Just one street.
@@dvferyance sad 😢
Does madison have high crime rate?
I don't think too bad. Its a college town, lots of partying, but pretty safe overall
@@CityWalkerMT thank you
