I get this may not be extreme weather for everyone. Certainly not hurricane like conditions. But as I said, I was expecting way worse. Oh well, we will just have to keep trying!

Basically the weather any hunter shoots in usually ;)

Piet, would you consider doing a real beginners style video/series? Going from what people should know once they decide they want to try shooting, fundamentals, mental notes to remember when going to a range for the first time, tips and tricks etc. I want to shoot for my first ever time once lockdown gets lifted here in Ireland but I have no idea what to expect at all. I'd love.if you could create some content that would prepare me. Then as a continuation you could do a few videos on a first rifle, equipment must have and nice have. I know you touch on it in some videos but given your video on movie scene breakdowns brought in a lot of new viewers like myself, who have never shot a series like that would really help.
Lekker dag vir jou (hope that's right!)

@@superbond22 What did you get and what country are you living in? If I do enjoy shooting as much as I think I will, I'd love to get my own by the end of the year. Considering lockdown here isn't set to lift for this sort of activity until later in the summer, 3 months to try it out should be loads!
Agree on the other comment. To be honest, that's what keeps me coming back to this channel. Pity I can't understand Afrikaans at all!

@@daveharrington7743 I have shot once or twice years ago. I am hopeful that I'll enjoy it just as much.
I grew up in the Chicago, IL burbs and graduated from Illinos State University. Not much hunting and the gun laws are awful. Good thing I moved to Colorado once I graduated.
Out here we have tons free shooting and hunting lands!
With that in mind, and being my first gun, I bought a Ruger 10/22 w/ thumb hole stock and 16" heavy barrel. Got a UTG Bugblaster 3x-9 as well. All in: 400 USD

@@superbond22 The laws in Ireland aren't actually that bad but it's expensive as hell. A tikka t3 I think is 2k which is about 2.2k us. Ammo is also expensive, very expensive! 20 box of hornady match 6.5 creed is €56 or abo8t 60 65 us... for 20 rounds!

I recently found your channel and I have not been able to stop watching. I have always loved long-range shooting for as long as I can remember. I remember watching video after video of how to use MOA to adjust for range and every video I could find on how to become better long-range marksmen. I shoot a 300 win mag; and while it's not a 600+ yard moving baboon headshot, I did recently drop a nice 7 point Virginia whitetail at 278 yards. I would love to see a video on how you personally find dope for your rifle and get it so dialed in. Keep up the amazing content!

In the US, our law regulating silencers actually does name them silencers, too, but because of the insane amount of Hollywood and video game nonsense, as well as political propaganda, most of the American gun guys call them "suppressors." On top of that, "silencer" is a bit of a misnomer for pretty much anything more powerful than 22LR, so we say suppressor for a couple different reasons. That being said, all gun guys should know what you meant when you said silencer, regardless. Even if we call them suppressors today, I'd bet 99% of us called them silencers as kids when playing Goldeneye or Call of Duty, what have you. Keep up the great content, Piet! I look forward to your videos always.

I'm a newb to long distance shooting. My range in Southern California is similar to yours (although nowhere near as nice) in terms of the distance plates are all on the rise of the hill. The range gives distance, but they do not give elevation. How do you adjust for elevation in addition to making the adjustments for distance? Also, because of shooting up, does that require less adjustment than if the target was on a flat field? I've watched Ryan Cleckner talk about an equation using a cosine when figuring out how to shoot a target down a hill, but he did not discuss shooting up a hill, so don't know if that math applies. Also, don't want to give you a swollen head, but my wife came into my office when I was watching one of your vids and informed me that you are "insanely handsome" and much to good looking not to be in the movies. Do I see a third career in the making? Thanks for the vids. Always learning something.

My dad and I shot out to 600 yards during matches. 5.56 national match ARs with iron sights. He ran a couple setups over the years. Shooting glasses over his prescription ones, prescription shooting glasses, and a specialty piece with a single prescription lens and a blinder over the other eye. LASIK was a game changer though.

Shot competitive (NCAA/Olympic-style target) and some non-competitive long range with contacts. No issues at all. Shot some with glasses and had a little bit of trouble sometimes looking through the top of the glasses, but it wasn't bad. And then I got PRK and never worried about my eyes again. Hey man in the video you say " the bullets don't contact the rain along its flight path due to pressure wave pushing the rain out of the way". This is not true at all. For someone who shoots long range PRS / NRL style matches I cant believe you have never seen bullets impact rain drops along there flight path. It's pretty cool to watch the explosion, and it's something I have seen several times myself. In fact there is a study done on it and it's proven to alter the bullets flight. Just thought you should know not trying to call you out.
