Thanks for the vicarious looksee at the wonders of the Barber Museum. One of these days I really have to get on down to Birmingham. Thanks also for the links in your description to Jerry Kaplan's video and pix of the resurrection of Mike Patrick's racing P11. What with my own '67 N15CS, a close hybrid cousin of the P11, still languishing in the shed awaiting its own resurrection, any and all inspiration to haul it out and fettle that poor old daily driver of mine of the '90s is welcome. As she stands, she's just become my "bad vehicular conscience".
Amazing - I have to get down there...son many spectacular bikes. But at 4:24 that 750 SS is my all time favorite sport bike. I first saw one in Norwich when I was a teenager in the 70s...and instantly fell in love with motorbikes - pure mechanical and design art...
What a mouthwatering collection of motorcycles, all in perfect condition and beautifully displayed. I must have hit the Pause button a hundred times in that video. (If only I could get that chrome chainguard off that gorgeous Hurricane for my Trident). A great video. Thanks for taking us all to Barber.
Not a bad museum created by a dairy farmer… I was there with the wife a few years ago. I spent a whole day in the place. I left there dizzy from everything there. I trailered my Ural sidecar motorcycle there and we rode around the area. Beautiful roads! We found a place to rent a pontoon boat on a nice lake and spent a day on the water. The Barber museum is a must go to experience for anyone.
Oh I could live there.. probably would have to live inside anyway as it was so hot ;) I could imagine retiring to that area and then just spending my days there getting exercise while walking around and drooling over every bike!
Hi Wooley! Yes, I did take a lot of photos of that red Dominator at the end of the video. There were some little features that I hadn't thought about, so it was a great reference point. Hope all is well. Cheers, Mike
Something odd about seeing bikes in a museum that were the latest models in the showrooms from within my lifetime. Next time I'm in the USA I'll have to put Barber on the itinerary. Well worth a visit.
Enjoyed this mini-series, Mike, you look as though you had a great time! The museum looks absolutely awesome. If you ever get the chance to visit Sammy Miller’s motorcycle museum in the New Forest, UK, I thoroughly recommend it. Not nearly as big as the Barber museum but more than enough to keep you happy for a couple of hours. They have a good number of Vincents and Nortons 😉
Stirred up a day long stop off on the way to visiting Ft. Benning & Ft. Bragg next summer Mike. Could visualize the Bobby's monitoring the narrow canal boats on the Vincent water scooters. Obligements for the video clarities of the museum's fine collection. -DU69160
Does anyone else play the "I get to pick one" game when they watch videos like this? I add one rule to the game...you can pick one but you can't ever sell it. That keeps you from picking the most valuable bike in the collection just to turn around and sell. You get to pick one to keep in your garage (or living room) and enjoy until you're dead, at which point it can be passed on to an heir who can't ever sell it either. : )
It was brilliant Terry. The John Surtees collection was amazing. There were areas that we didn't even see as we ran out of time after 5 hours walking around.
Aren't they just brilliant! You can hardly take it all in. There are so many. Mr. Barber even had a replica of the original Number 1 Lotus made. It's just amazing
What a thrill! Thanks for this wonderful tour.

Thanks a lot Bill. I'm glad you enjoyed this video. Yes, isn't Jerry's P11 so cool! Hope it provided a little inspiration ;) Best wishes, Mike

Totally agree. It’s like Disneyland for Motorcycle enthusiasts! We are hoping to get there again this year. Cannot wait.👍👍
Super thanks! Top notch quality footage - cheers!
A jaw-dropping motorcycle collection!
It really was. You get overwhelmed honestly. There are so many amazing bikes that you can walk right past a stunning bike!
What a place eh Mike, bet you could live there 😃 to much to look at and never a dull moment.

Excellent video! There’s just no way to spend enough time looking at every one of those incredible bikes.
Excellency in video Mike, so much to cram in for us all to enjoy. I suppose you took plenty of reference photos for your project.

Mike, these beautiful BSAs, Broughs, & Lotus deserve British Invasion music over techno 👍

Kiitos paljon! Se oli uskomaton paikka. Onnea sinulle
