As a professional mechanical engineer and a car enthusiast, I love what you are doing. Keep up the great work and continue posting these videos so I can continue living out my childhood dreams vicariously through your channel.
To be honest i love the thorough explanation and approach.Every important step about putting the build together is included in the videos.Your welding is also remarkable, could probably get you 24 bucks an hour.❤️👍
Make sure when you build the cold side that you make a plenum the size of the cylinder with a check valve to hold the pressure in coming from the turbo. All 1 cylinder 4 stroke engines face this unique issue when turbocharged that since the turbo is spooled when the exhaust valve is opened boost is built while the intake valve is closed and creates a surge dropping pressure before the intake valve opens. Long story short it will be much more efficient and spool up faster.
I think there is a solution for the oil ,i have seen on grind hard plumbing co , they used a oil pump witch bolted to the head of the motor and get oil to the turbo. If your engine is the same it may be just a bolt on solution. Definitely brace the turbo to the frame, because you know the vibration s will destroy the welds no matter how strong they are. And be very patient with welding the turbo flange cuz it seems a little bit to thin and may warp do to heat. Overall good progress I did like the videos. Good luck man!
Yeah I need to tie them in for sure! I want to cut some more of the ugly stuff off and weld more steel in. Maybe paint it with the spare yellow paint from the evo 👀
You need a pit bike oil cooler kit for your oil feed it bolts onto the side of the head and instead of running the cooler utilise the lines for oil feeds for the turbo
That exhaust diameter might make it spool slow. Tiny single piston motor already doesn't have much exhaust velocity. The intercooler is a good idea because it'll act as a plenum for the intake charge
if you search honda c50 turbo on yt there is a video of a guy that built a litle 50cc motorbike into a 130cc turbo with an oil cooler and everything im not sure if it has fuel injection tho. looking forward to your build for sure😁
Just started putting a turbo on my own 125cc 4 strone bike tho this bike already came with fuel injection it is gonna be a bit harder to tune. Put this thing has no problem spooling a the cheap rhb31 turbo because you can feel it fall on it’s face when it hits boost😂 but this is pretty cool to see. Interesting too see how this runs vs how my bike rund🤟🤟
She's coming along mint👌🔥 I remember watching the BoostedBoiz turbo their shopping go kart, they did a similar setup with the EFI as well just in a slightly bigger engine, if I remember right they used a small external electric oil pump plumbed up and fed from a separate oil tank and then drains back from the turbo back to the feed tank kinda like a fuel cell system, I can't remember if they added a oil cooler to the system or not but would be a good little addition to the diy stand alone turbo oil system👍 either way I'm sure you'll sus it out, keep up the good work mbro🫡💯🔥🔥#TEAMLAKE #TURBODRIFTKART🔥🔥🔥
i think the turbo manifold pipe is to thick and airflow gets lost in there . i would go with a thinner pipe to increase the airflow and pressure to spool up the turbo faster and higher . go with the original size pipe from the exhaust .
Patiently waiting for the efi kit install, I've heard these can be a real PITA with possibly needing to switch over to a hall sensor on the flywheel for spark signal
Would test the EFI System first, before installing the turbo. Am havin a project like this in my plan for this year. Nice videos and interested in new ones coming! Cheers from Germany
Do you think that the conrod and piston can handle it? (Im guessing that the gearbox should be fine, they are straight cut gears and probably used in bigger engines as well
You need a pressure canister between Turbo and engine to make the engine run properly. Check boostedboiz Kyle's Turbo shopping Kart. Has a Turbo 225cc 5 speed with fuel management, ecu, fuel pump, injector, tune, 2 step. He did all the science for you
Yeah boi! 100k in no time matey! Keep it up! I see that another channel pretty much used their big money and seemingly copied your project and did it all in one go 🙄 I subsequently unsubbed from their channel, LOL! Stoked to enjoy the journey with you!
This is absolutely false haha. Especially for the turbo charge piping. You actually need volume in the charge pipe on a single cylinder engine for it to be as efficient as possible.
I’m not trying to rain on your parade. That piping is just too big. The turbo is too far away to have no lag. Sure it’ll work. But u don’t think it’s going to work well enough. The motor is just so small. Plus the type of motor. They’re only single cams. A big bore top end would be great for that. Probably turns it into a 200cc. That may be able to spool it pretty well. But not as great as it can be
@@itsmikelake absolutely. Just sharing some thoughts. I’ve made that mistake with a Lima motor putting too big of turbo on it when really I needed to put the turbo that u have on it 😂 couldn’t spoool it right 😂 I do like seeing the tiny turbos being put on them small motors. It’s interesting
any music pack.. load out there buy one its yours to use.. to explain myself when you guys make a video i look at it as a whole you have content and great personality but then its the free copy paste music on all the videos that dries its soul up for me. its not what i want to listen to but its what you present to me to listen to as i watch the content, so i relate most of your content to no copy right music but the issue is remembering certain content when all the music sounds the same through the videos. maybe split the content with the music so find some for the drift quad stuff and try it out and keep the same for the vlog style catch up videos so we know whats coming or whats in store by the music @@itsmikelake

that exhaust pipe going from the engine to the turbo might be just a tad big for a 125cc, with smaller pipes the pressure and speed of the exhaust gases are higher and spools the turbo easier
Yo look into a Daytona 190cc 4valve when that 125 dies they make 22+ hp from the box and aren’t much bigger then that 125 meant for the same pitbikes that motor is could make it real crazy 😂

I appreciate this comment so much bro. I'm absolutely loving this build & the support you guys are showing. Thank you 🙏🏻
Just fuck up
Perfect length video
Thanks Ben 😁
To be honest i love the thorough explanation and approach.Every important step about putting the build together is included in the videos.Your welding is also remarkable, could probably get you 24 bucks an hour.❤️👍
It’s going to be interesting to see this all come together! FYI: Link for parts is in the description 😁

Mr lake why no shocks in the front it will ensure better handling on cornering
Brooo 12 days later where is part threeee
Nearly 60K subs bro! Stoked for you! Your builds have come a long way from flipping exhaust and putting turbos on them
Pushing hard bro! I appreciate that 🥰

Probably be a good idea to make a turbo to chassis mount so ya don't crack the mani
I forgot to mention but this is absolutely happening 😁
@@itsmikelake haha sweet bro that was I first thing I seen going wrong lol
This is sick 😊 I always wondered how to do an EFI on a quad
man I'm so excited for this I keep checking your channel every few hours
Dropping this week! Sorry I had a few issues 😅
@@itsmikelake hahaha no need to be sorry at all man, good things take time!
Surely ready for vicdrift comp rd. 1?
Maybe another bit of piping at the rear of the front wishbones to the frame?
Happy trails, Cowpoke

Loving these episodes, maybe an e36 body to go on the trike when finished that would be sick.
Thanks! I’ve considered a body to throw on it…there are some Datsun 240z bodies for sale from an old amusement park. Would be so cool!
@itsmikelake Now that would be cool. Keep up the good work mate 🤙
Maybe you can try oil cooler adapter for turbo oil feed and return🤔
What a sweet thing, keen to see the final product!
Can’t wait to rip it! Thanks homie
You need a pit bike oil cooler kit for your oil feed it bolts onto the side of the head and instead of running the cooler utilise the lines for oil feeds for the turbo
Mini turbo drift go kart , hell yeah ! 🎉
Love this build, and your vids, and don’t heat wrap the intake pipe it will crack faster
Such a sick build!!! I can hardly wait to hear it
That exhaust diameter might make it spool slow. Tiny single piston motor already doesn't have much exhaust velocity. The intercooler is a good idea because it'll act as a plenum for the intake charge
Use a pulse pump to a mini computer radiator to feed the turbo oil. No tank or anything the computer radiator and lines will hold all the oil.
I'm loving this build and will be putting my order in for 1 once you finish yours. I might go twin turbo just to 1 up you 😜
Haha I wish i could make and sell these. But they're bloody time consuming! Thanks for the love bro
For your oil feed just buy a oil cooling radiator kit for a 140cc thumpstar 🤟
Mike lake your the hero of the whole build 💯
Thank you bro! I appreciate you 🥰
Before we know it this drift kart will end up being a full sized cr500 shifter kart with the way bro is going at it
Keep up the fantastic work mate!
👀 hell yeah I’m so keen to keep pushing the limits of the kart haha. Thank you bro!
still watching your videos from last year

i think some gussets would go a long way on the frame, especially where the top bar meets the gooseneck
you can get oil pumps for those engines that run off the cam

There is math to work out pipe size, that charge pipe is def too big. Sweet kart
Put a bigger karburator on it it give it more speed and probably more boost to 😄 love the content keep it op

Love the build but also you will want to add a brace for the turbo the the frame otherwise it will crack everything
Thanks bro! Of course I’ll add a brace and final weld everything all nicely 😁
@@itsmikelake 👍
I like the color of the bmw amazing color 🎉

Need a led whip on the back
FINALLY PART 2 YAYYYY
Hopefully its flutters hard and has a mean pop and bang limiter
Buy a oilcooler kit to the engine and conect it to the turbo line then you have oil to the turbo!!
Purchased! Thanks for the heads up 😁
you should make an electric on i know petrols way cooler but electrics fits smaller and is way more powerful (if you get a decent size motor)
So essentially a road legal vehicle.....😂✌🏻
Can wait for the noises🎉😂
Hell yeah
Is that the yellow evo from GT4 in the back round?
That’s my RWD evo 😁. All of the build videos are on this channel 👊🏻
Been a hot minute since i had pitbikes but i think you can add an oil cooler to the 125? Like the 140 ect had.
Do you think that the conrod and piston can handle it? (Im guessing that the gearbox should be fine, they are straight cut gears and probably used in bigger engines as well
Careful with the intercooler run, make sure you’re getting enough air to the intake quick enough or you’ll choke it.
Yeah I’m really interested to see how it all works out 🤔👀
It needs a Mario livery ! Then test drive it as Mario 😂
What have you done with the old carb from the 2strok engine
would like to see it running with EFI!
It is he explained in the first video/previous

to have a turbo work on a small engine there can not be long pipes everything has to be tight and short for the best performance

Add a k&n filter and mini radiator pls
& mini intercooler! 👀
Why not put the turbo in the front?
In the front of what? The turbo is literally at the front 🤣
buy some cheap chinese oil cooler that included the adaptor that connected from oil line at the right side of the of the head.
Done! I ordered the kit last week 😁
Yeah i rekon the 2 inch piping would be too big and would take attention away from the turbo
Mooooorrreee !!
Haha incoming soon!
Where did you get the turbo?

Hey i have an idea flame thrower kit 😅 or 2step kit or both

We’ll extend the rear wheels backward a little 👌🏻
