Thank you so much! It is so touching to receive comments like that even though I'm not any more special than you! Kelsey is doing well, she is doing other forms of exercise because she can't dance anymore due to her extensive injuries, but she is excelling in college!
I'm so excited to meet you and start the program! It's so great to hear that I'm not the only one who's mind has been changed about college! Thanks for the reassurance :)
The dance world is small enough that I will probably run into you some day!! haha but I'm so glad to hear that! And yes, that a big reason why I chose it!
Thank you!! I'm so excited and ready to tackle this new challenge :) Best of luck to you as well! I'm sure doing a double major takes a lot of hard work!
I'm going to be a sophomore in the ballet department at the U next year, and I was literally in the exact same position as you in thinking that I was never going to go to college, but it ended up being the best decision I could have made! You are going to love it and you'll improve a ton :)
Thank you so much!! I don't believe that I have gotten the chance to meet her yet but hopefully I will soon! I'll try to keep you posted! Thanks for watching :)
Thank you so much! I was applying to high schools, and didn't understand what the tour guide meant about applying to colleges fordance. Now I know what it means, and can definitely put that arts school in my top choices! Good lcuk at U of U!
OH MY GOSH! Just when I leave Utah, you move there! hahahaha. I was in Swan Lake last year at the University of Utah. It's totally an AMAZING program. It was designed by my previous ballet teacher's teacher at Ballet West. Are you interested in the University of Utah as well because of the relationship and collaboration with Ballet West? VERY smart!
ahh you're near Ballet West which is sweet! I go to George Brown College in Toronto for dance which is affiliated with Ballet Jorgen Canada's and I love it!! The college way is great cause you do get extra training and what not. Best of luck to you! :)
One of my suitemates from last semester is a nursing major with a minor in dance. She wants to be a physical therapist, specializing with dancers. The city my college is in has a professional ballet company, and one band director I had in high school is a piano accompanist for the ballet company.
No, no actually I live very far away from Utah! I chose to come here because of the reputation of the ballet program and their affiliation with Ballet West. Also, U of U is very affordable for the quality of education you are receiving in comparison to other colleges. Other good ballet programs that I know of are Indiana University, Butler, Juilliard, Oklahoma University, and Point Park University. There are many others, but those are the only schools that I know enough about to recommend :)
Hey girlies! I have a few video requests. I think it would be cool if you could do a 50 facts about me, draw my life, room/house tour and some videos of you girls dancing. I would love to know more about you guys because I always turn to you or my teachers for help with dance related problems. Thanks so much!!!
I think a while ago I asked if you and your sister had been in the same class as my friend at Houston 2009. You guys said you were, and she's also headed to Utah this fall :)
In a couple years I want to get more serious with my dancing and my mom will retire about that time. I was wondering how to get her to homeschool me so I can focus on dance. My sister is moving out around that time as well so I can turn her room into a studio. If anyone has any ways they got their parents to home school them it would be greatly appreciated. Also tips on how to tell parents you want to make dance your career
Do you live in Utah right now? So just curiously, is that why you chose the U over other dance schools? (Besides the fact that you got a scholarship, congrats!) Do you know of any other colleges with good ballet programs that you can recommend? Thanks!
Hey! I was just wondering if you met Devon Joslin? She went to my Summer intensive this year! (Orlando Ballet School) She was in my level and is extremely beautiful and an amazing dancer. She is going into her last year at University of Utah! Let me know if you even got to meet her okay? I Will always be full of love and support for you girls, no matter what you choose to do with your lives. Thanks for Reading -Victoria
I had a question about summer intensives, I went to a local one this summer and decided I wanted to audition for bigger more real ones to go to for summer 2014, my studio doesn't really expose us to intensives I found out about them myself kind of late as I'm already 15 :\ but I still want to improve, (continued below)
i am in intermediate pointe but only dance for like an hour and a half three days a week. do you think that is enough for going to collage for dance. thanks for reassuring me that i want to go to collage for dance.
I have 90 degree arabesques and just okay flexibilty what summer intensives would you recommend as a first? Im a pretty good intermidiate ballet dancer and take one advanced ballet class(: can you reccommend some please(:? I was thinking Joffrey Chicago in LA or State Street ballet in Santa Barbara, I was also wondering about ABT in california, I heard there's one.. please help me!!
