I love to build kits. Presently I'm building a Tichy Train Group single sheathed, outside braced boxcar and it is proving difficult. Some of the very tiny small parts broke while trying to cut them off the sprue. The parts go on the bottom so I hope no one really notices it only if they pick up the car and look at the bottom. I've already built 3 other Tichy rolling stock kits, 2 ore cars, a 40' 50 ton flatcar and a 40' 50 ton wooden side gondola. All these models have K-brakes as I model the turn of the century & it's hard to find rolling stock for that period. I pretty much have to build them from kits. I just finished an Atlas lumber company and scratch built a lumber drying shed to go with it. I've also scratch built an O scale old barn I saw on TH-cam. I'm also working on 6 passenger coaches for the Central of Georgia Railroad, the railroad I model since I used to live in Jonesboro, GA, very near the Central of Georgia. Next I've got to paint a brass diesel, a Baldwin VO-1000, glossy black so I can add Central of Georgia decals. Very nice little buildings you're working on. I may have to scratch build something like that. I make my own tar paper roofs out of black construction paper painted grey over the top. Then I cut it into 3/8" strips and sand the edges to reveal the black and use my Approx-O knife to dig gouges into the edges. I never use an E-Xacto knife 'cause nothing is ever exact, only approximate. When using paper signage I always sand the reverse to make it really thin so it conforms to the structure surface. Happy railroading! Cheers from an ex-Georgian in eastern TN

I've built a few of the Tichy cars alo. The one that I keep putting off is the work crane, I'll pass on that one a little bit longer
