- Kicked off the weekend with a defeat against Brentford. A West London derby which we again failed to win in.
Will we ever score goals from open play?

Our problem was disasi in the lb, madueke was forced to play deep thus never went to the byline. At some point sterling got tired.Why can't we just beat low blocks by many crosses in the box and distance shooting
Complete shambles , you could see after 30 mins that result was looming over us , Sterling , Jackson were total rubbish .

The main/root problem chelsea is facing are not really the players but the Coach- Pochetino and his tactics/lack of plan B/C when A fails.
Outlined reasons:
During the transfer window he had enough time to decide who will suit his playing style, who to loan, who to sell , who will play and who to buy yet it's still looking like he has not had enough.
2.) Even with these set of players in his Arsenal, I believe some other tactical coach will do wonders with them.
Pochetino plays a side by side backward pass possession football style. This is his base style of play i.e Plan A .
In today's football, we know that possession only does not win the match especially if you can't break your opponent defence. His style of football is easily countered by most managers by sitting deep defensively and hitting on a counter. That was how Nottingham, westham and even Aston villa defeated Chelsea despite all their billions spent and Pochetino have not learn his lessons.
When you are playing this style you ought to have complete midfielders and defenders who read games. Instead of trying to play your way in, start playing long balls inside the box of your opponent/ use the flanks with lots of crosses and atleast some of your defenders, midfielders & strikers should possess the ability to shoot outside the box but it's a pity poch didn't put this in consideration when he went to the transfer window.
Enzo usually have chances to shoot and score in the box most times but he's doesn't have it aside through ball - passing skills. Even the like s of Caicedo, Gallerghar and some of Chelsea fwd are not prolific shooters in and outside the box. The young guy they loan to Leceister possesses all these qualities+interception and would have saved Chelsea in some of those matches lost/drawn.
A Good coach takes his time to work on his team defense set-up especially during set pieces and his attack set-up in putting the ball into the net during set pieces and counter.
In the 1st 15-25mins Pochetino would have noticed their style of play and switch a little bit to plan B/C. There's time when and attacking minded team ought to switch from attacking to sitting a little bit deep inviting your opponent to come in deep while you hit them on a counter to get 1-2Goals. Chelsea looked more deadly few times they countered against brendford in that match and that is it.
No 1 cares about your possession style , the results his what matters. It's a pity Pochetino does not have plan B and C. Even in today's El-clasico, Real Madrid after trying all their possible best to come back to the game eventually did so through a strike outside the 18 from the current complete box to box midfielder Jude Bellingham.
Lastly, Pochetino has not instill sincere discipline amongst the team if not Robert Sanchez Is meant to be benched in today's match. See what he did again today.
So indiscipline and careless at the backline.
The new keeper bought is a better version and I wonder why poch keeps using Sanchez.
Pochetino Is Chelsea's problem and sincerely he needs to be replaced. Chelsea would have been a better team with Tottenham's new coach doing wonders right now.
That man knows the football basics and he knows how to set up and what he wants unlike Poch. Despite Kane not in the team, Spurs played more better.

Thanks for the review Nina. Struggling to understand how to solve this issue of scoring goals. It's not like we are struggling with possession. We have the second highest possession in the league. We are second in creating goal scoring chances. All these stats accoring to Sky Sports. But I am starting to suspect that these players are blowing how and cold which is affecting our consistency. If Poch wants to succeed, he's going to have to demand more from these players. Jackson has been incredibly dissapointing so far.
Honestly just lower the expectations. Top 10 finish and decent run in cup games is all im hoping for. Full fit squad would be nice too.

Memories of last season. Sterling, Jackson and Madueke were shocking. Well done Sanchez for pulling off a couple of great saves. Why after spending a billion our sub bench looked awful? Maatsen can leave in January.

My only issue with this critique is that you stated players were trying and the fans were flat....it is also up o the fans to provide that added spark to the players. I can understand if nobody on the pitch was trying and it was like they have checked out on the match and the fans matching the effort but if the players are putting in an effort us as fans need to lift them further up and potentially make the difference. Honestly, the team tried for the majority of the game and were lightyears better than the effot of last season just simply couldn't pu the ball in the net. As stated though the fans at the Bridge to me get the biggest L for the game with their lack of any passion being shown in that match.
I did mean we need to do better as fans to create an atmosphere?

Right there with you, Nina... I don't feel anything when we lose anymore. This team is filled to the brim with pansies who have zero fight in them. Lightyears apart from the team I grew up with and loved.

When Chelsea try to be dominant, keep the possession , time and time again they failed. Every single team already knows how to deal with it. Against Arsenal we came as underdog, played counterattacking football, and it worked very well, WITHOUT Jackson. Once Jackson entered the pitch against Arsenal Chelsea died, and against Brentford our attack looked dead. I cannot believe Pochetino doesn't see this as a real problem. We might better play without striker than with Jackson. I have no idea what happened to Mudryk, but just maybe Washington can get a chance against Blackburn. I agree with Nina, is not an anger it's very very D E E P R E S S I N G
I agree that Jackson has had 2 poor successive games but frankly we need to judge over a longer time span. In Jan we must assess the striker options and I agree that it’s frustrating. He will get more scrutiny because he’s meant to be scoring, but none of our players can finish chances. You don’t need to be a striker to finish a chance :/
Calling it, we will get 50 or so points this season.. thats about 10th. Lets hope we can go far in the various cups. KTBFFH

I honestly think its time to realise that these bunch of players and the coach are simply not good enough. I admire Nina for going to watch these games, but its soul destroying.

Nina arsenal fan here, but I most say u guys have been very unlucky this season, u should have more points than u already have, I think u are suffering the same problems arsenal were facing 3 seasons ago when we finished 8th, play well and missed loads of chances, but hopefully u get something against spurs next week, so arsenal can go to the top of the table 😂😆

No discipline. Sanchez added to the woes again by committing a blunder again and next match poch will still put him in front of goals when you have a better keeper s on the bench

Clearly Enzo becoming father nothing to do with him not being involved as he was in stands,so must of been injury and he wouldn't of made any difference to outcome of result if played anyway.Sick of hearing this process nonsense what process being a mid table club and reality is that's what we've become and are now all under this ownership no coincidence is it.
