To be clear, Dani's "Ritual" ACAAN that he performed on "Fool Us" did not use any duplicates. He has several versions of "Ritual," one of which is his "Totally Hands Off" version reviewed here, which does use duplicates, but the version he performed on "Fool Us" did not use duplicates, and the deck was fully examinable and did not require any prep work. The version he performed on "Fool Us" can be performed any time with a borrowed deck without any prep. In his ACAAN Projects Chapter 5, Dani explains a principle/method for controlling a free selection to a certain position (for a completely different effect), which Dani employed when he had Allison select and return her card. If you understand that Chapter 5 principle and Dani's ACAAN Projects Chapter 1 "Ritual" (or the "Totally Hands Off" ACAAN), then you will be able to replicate Dani's Ritual "Fool Us" performance.
All ten of these are fantastic. I would like to mention "Snow Deck" which is an any named card only in the deck. Sort of a reverse Quantum deck. It is pretty powerful to spectators.
Brent Braun's Penguin Lecture has a proto-Position Impossible using a deck of cards that we probably all have in a drawer somewhere, and I think I might prefer that to the finished product. And, you know, just a solid lecture all round.
Thanks for mentioning Dan Harlan’s ACAANAAT; I had the download but must have overlooked this one. I just watched and I can see myself performing this now. I enjoy interesting presentational ideas more than anything these days and this definitely fits that category.
So many great choices, Accumulator deck is definitely nr.1 and Mastermind is awesome too..But you mentioned it absolutely right - it is magicians thing.. If you do it right, lay man will have exactly same feelings when you perform it with old good svengali deck ;)
Interesting video about a very great and astonishing effect...I like the easy but effective version of Daniel Garcia ad Jay Sankey too...But I like also the Dani da Ortiz version ..very beautiful 👌👌👌 as many other effects of him..👌👌👌💪💪☺
Sorry if this is a benign issue but whenever I go to one of these top 10s, a lot of the times the links will be to products that you can't get anymore or are out of stock. Would you guys be able to point us in the direction of where we could buy it when Penguin doesn't have it or even just not link the out of stock stuff.
The only product on this list that is not available currently is The Grail by Mike Rose. We removed the link but it sounds like it will be rereleased in the near future. If there is ever a trick that is out of stock make sure to add it to your wishlist and we'll send you an email when we get it back in stock.
@@PullThatDoor I have the Quarter, it's excellent. I will be getting the 50cent jaun next. I keep the Quarter set in it's own zip lock bag. This is important so that you do NOT mix it up with "normal" coins.
@@PullThatDoor 100% without a doubt "Quiver Switch Purse" by Glitch Studios. Very well made. I have 2. Worth every penny. Keep 2 normal quarters & Double Deception in 1 Quiver. You have yourself a mini routine right there. Bring out the normal quarters and let spectators examine all they want... put them back into purse, get out the scarf/silk/heavy duty restaurant napkin, go back into that same purse and this time grab the Double Deception. BOOM. After you get Double Deception, go to a bank and get matching quarters, old school Eagles all match but the newer 2000' and up have the State backs.
@@jmathai1 I can do reliably by taking all the cards out of the box and spreading them and saying "you can see that all the cards are different" and doing the shift out in the open. It flies over the radar and hits. You have to really have a strong command of mnemonica and the math!
I thoroughly enjoy these special “single topic” shows. The best part of each segment, for each trick, is “Here’s what you want to know …..”. For me, this is the most critical point of any review. All I really want to know is whether any trick is within my skill set and whether arts and crafts is involved. Great work.
HG Effect by Shawn Farquhar is my favorite. Edit: Looking back I think it's tied with the Ice-Cold ACAAN by Mitchell Kettlewell - the latter is less versatile and has its technical kinks, yet very hard hitting and more "hands-off".
Michael Murray is a genius, but from the MindFx stable the effect I feel should be high up this list is Daniel Dorian Johnson's FAST (specifically his BERGFAST). It makes ACAAN incredibly easy and purely about the psychological subtleties. And it's 100% examinable. How isn't it on here!!!!????
@@penguinmagicshop Just for the record, not everyone is on IG or wants to be. No dispespect, but I'm not joining for Penguin if I didn't sign up for friends.
Not sure it qualifies as an actual CAAN but my favorite take on the plot is from Joshua Jay's first Penguin Live. It was such a great plot with an ending I didn't see coming and just makes for a great parlor effect.
I tend to agree. It's fine as a part of a routine but as a stand alone, it doesn't really impress that much. I also think the one in Corinda is the easiest, it's impromptu and a uses a normal deck. A true any card at any number. Great videos guys thank you.
If you haven't already, check out Joshua Jay's first Penguin Live lecture. He talks about this very thing and how it's really just a coincidence and offers a great routine with a surprise ending based on the CAAN plot.
You guys should bring back “Cool Box Live!”… That show was my favorite thing to look forward to during the week! Plus I spent a lot of money on those nights haha… It’s a win/win for both of us! Not sure if it’s considered ACAAN, but Kyle Purnell, Brainchild is a winner!
„It‘s Craig Petty, so you get 800 hours“ 😅

I perform the ritual every chance I get and it’s literally SO GOOD
These top ten videos are my favorite! Keep ‘em comin, boys!
I'm blown away you didn't mention Barrie Richardson's "Impromptu Card At Any Number".
One of my favorite tricks to do with a borrowed deck.

@@penguinmagicshopYeah, I know, just shocked that Erik and Nick didn't at least mention it in the Honorable mention. But I get it

Thank you Nick, Erik, cameraman and editors. Top video. Keep up the great content ♦️♣️

It's a great lecture!
The best I ca(a)n by Joël Harbers is a great one. Uses a borrowed shuffled deck. Highly recomend this one!
Yeah, it's really solid. That was one that was suggested that it didn't get enough votes.
Thanks for mentioning Dan Harlan’s ACAANAAT; I had the download but must have overlooked this one. I just watched and I can see myself performing this now. I enjoy interesting presentational ideas more than anything these days and this definitely fits that category.
how do you get the download

YAMFACAAN by R Paul Wilson. Can be done with a borrowed deck.

Asi Wind's ACAAN is best. The ritual by Dani Daortiz, his fool us performance without dupes, is really incredible too.
Ty for the list boys ACAAN is my fave to do🐧🎩🐇

Thats dope!! I love Penguin Magic!
Thanks for the love! We're happy you enjoyed the video!
kinda random but curious, what is your guy’s best flipper coins. trying to find good ones to buy
I highly recommend Mark Mason's Double Deception. It's incredible.
@@veganbadass thanks, after doing a lot of research that’s probably what i’m gonna buy

No Asi Wind??????? huh
They do talk about it, it just isn't available on the site at the moment.
@@penguinmagicshop Thanks! I love this channel and all that you guys contribute to the Magic Community. You rock!!
real ACAAN by Ben Earl is the best impromptu shuffled deck in their hands ACAAN ever
I love that one
Where is this available? Not on Penguin as far as I can see.
Guy on right looks like Seth McFarland
That's Nick Locapo 👍
I love ACAAN by Asi Wind but the shift feels so iffy to me! Can anyone here hit it every time?
It's super difficult! And you have to make sure that your math and memory work are on point as well.
I love that trick as a fan of good magic but no way I could perform it in a way that work well every time!

@@penguinmagicshop Agreed! I learned so much about the ACCAN plot from this video and the comments as well! Love you guys! :)

One other important detail is whether the trick’s video is a “fair” representation of the effect.
I fully believe miracle one by Christian grace is better than the grail. They use similar methods but miracle one is more refined
I think it’s important to add that Dani’s Fool us any card at any number can now be examined with his new update

Number 1 is surely The Accumulator Deck. How's it not even in the top 10? 😂
It was released after the community generated and voted on the list. Maybe we should do another list?
ACAAN is my least favorite card plot. Idk why but it just isn't really that impressive to me. But everyone has their own opinion right?
For sure👍
