I literally just had AWE axleback exhaust (w/black diamond tips just like yours), installed today 08/06 at Speedlogic in Fullerton. Cars is a 15' 435i xdrive GC. Car was already 400hp. It certainly felt a little faster. Now you have proved my butt dyno was correct. Great relevant content as usual.
idk how but you guys make interesting bmw content that is both more informative and more wholesome than other channels. thanks a ton, from someone with a g20 who is still addicted to your f series content.
This testing series is awesome. I have the AWE axleback but am considering the midpipe as well for just a little more volume. No DP plans. I wonder if the AWE midpipe will add any more power on the dyno.
Damn you guys always get me pumped to mod my F30! Most of your myth busts so far had the expected outcome but it's really nice to have some data from cars similar to your own.
I can save you almost 7 minutes. The answer is Yes. That said appreciate the testing done. I do have full exhaust all I need is the axle back to finish it.
@@t.p1234xyz doesn't matter. It's been proven multiple times that the b58 is under rated by bmw. Most dynos show 330~ hp at the wheels. Theres something wrong with this particular engine.

Great video. Maybe a video on how the dyno works and how it's setup might be beneficial. Might take care of some of the confusion in the numbers measured/expected 👍🤓
Hey guys love the channel very in informative, I would love to see a video comparing botmod, bummer code, and xhpflashtool what do they allow you to do for your bmw, what can or can't you use if your car is still stock, which is or will be a better option for us with no upgrades or which upgrades do you need to have in order to use the correct flash, there are a lot of questions I have because I'm not a car guy so I'm uncertain and uncomfortable with investing in one of these flash tools, and also I really want to go from and to red with the xhp but do I need to only purchase the rwd license and I can flash it or do I need to get the license and then purchase the rwd package? I need the help please.
Steven N55 bm3 is for hp/torque flash tune Bimmercode is to code car features or remove Xhpflash is for a transmission flash tune They don’t really overlap. Only thing that does bm3 has a tranny flash tune for some cars. If you want power bm3 is the only one that will give it to you. And probably the best money spent
Noise change is absolutely worth it, cars are so quiet these days. Also 8 hp is nothing to scoff at, it adds up. Could be the difference between 295-ish whp and breaching that 300 whp barrier. It's literally one of the power easiest mods you can do for a turbo car
What! That seems like n55s number to the wheel. I thought I would get 300 at least. You think its because x drive? But, still an insane engine. Just wished I had that that or n55
Yeah sounded low to me too. BMW claims the 340i comes with 320hp but that's at the crank. I was surprised though because I've heard claims that BMW underrated the car and it was actually making close to 320 at the wheels.
Hold on I’m lost a 340i is making ONLY 277 horse power to the wheels that’s desapointing can someone please explain why a 365 horse power when down to only 277 horse power
Don't you think larger fans are needed to feed the engine the proper rate of air flow? I see dynos with tiny fans in front and other with massive fans.
Do you not sell anything for an e92 n52 328i? You NEVER do any videos for them. I get it that not as many people modify those engines, cause it’s not as easy to gain power from those motors, but there are tons of us guys out here who still wanna modify our cars. Please do more videos for us reliable motor guys.
If you could do the intake next, along with the axel back (stock tune) that would be awesome! Think a lot of people get these two parts first (I did). edit: Chris is so cute no homo
Thanks!
Thanks!!
What about a muffler delete altogether? I’d like to see that one 👍🏼
It makes a difference on turbo cars
And straight pipe
Me too, been thinking about doing muffler delete for years but don’t want to sacrifice reliability

Great video and series. Always nice to see someone taking a scientific approach rather than providing opinions based on feels.
Solid gains for just a muffler! I wish I could upgrade my exhaust.
Btw the stealth microphone setup is on point lol

Great video guys ! Awesome job by Chris and Bryan !
Awesome iv been waiting to see some results and dyno runs for the gen 1 b58
Awesome test, thank you. It gives us some perspective
Kies: makes good content for my F83 and me
Also Kies: gets a dyno
Kies again: makes even better content
Keep it up guys.
Second great video of a dyno tune on axle back exhaust. And most people think it does nothing or even loose horsepower

I know you dont sell them anymore but id love to see a downpipe tested. Catted and Uncatted.
That would be a lot of work though. But yeah that would be very interesting.
Anyone know why they stopped selling them?
Could you please dyno test bootmod3?
Seems low for a stock b58 right? Cool nonetheless
Yeahhh dang it’s low but it still feels fast to me I guess🙄
The b58 in my X3 is making 382hp from the factory.
Its the all wheel drive
TheFanatic no lol it’s because it’s the wheel house not crank as advertised on commercials
@@anthonypipia6990 there is more drive line loss on awd as opposed to rwd

Chris a cool dude
No kap
Brian please dyno f30 n20/26 bm3 stage 1 with stock dp? Seriously f30post forum doesn't have a single dyno of bm3 stage 1 gain. I 😅
Why is the horsepower on his 340 so low?
because factory HP/Torque numbers are at the crank not the wheels

The dynapack at AutoTalent in LA generally runs the same as a Mustang Dyno.
Awesome series! Aren’t 340i’s supposed to come with a base of 320hp?? Sorry if it’s a dumb question.
They test to the crank, this test is to the wheels
Was just thinking the same thing
I think it’s due to 320hp measured at the engine but lower hp measured at the wheel.
And here is why i prefer buying Bootmod3 through KiesMotorsports than through Protuningfreaks even though it's the same exact thing.... Trust
Nice video!
I have a Remus on my bimmer and thats how much the company was claiming on the gains.
I miss these videos and Chris! RiP brother
I've seen over forums and other videos stock 340 doing 320 to the wheels so what is going on here???
American dynos are pretty weird. Our numbers are definitely inflated lol
Agreeded with Stephen Lozano yal should do a cat/res/muffler delete an see what kinda numbers are put out
My 320xi has high flow downpipe, upgraded intercooler and stock muffler with stage 2 bootmod and im pushing 320hp.
Makes me feel good my 2011 335 xdrive made 270 whhp bone stock
Is the stock axle back exhaust for sale ? I am local
Great video overall

what about the deverter valve myth busting, stock vs gfb vs turbosmart
I thought a 340 made 320hp stock ???
I think to the wheel hp is different from to the crank hp. Marketing advertise the crank not the wheel
this is to the wheels, its 320 hp to the crank
$1200 for a noise change and 8hp. no thanks. Glad to see yall are doing the dyno tests right! Love this series!

280 wheel horsepower to find crank HP which is what bmw advertises add +15%
At the wheels Vs crank I'd guess
326hp is supposed to be at the crank. The 280hp measured in the video is at the wheels. Measuring at the wheels will factor in drivetrain losses etc.
