HEYA is the Korean expression of Sun. The story of a hungry tiger trying to eat a woman and children, "The Sun and the Moon," is an old Korean fairy tale
*yeah gurl just listen to it in the car* each chorus builds up a little more each time and that final chorus is just ✨chefs kiss✨ literal goosebumps *OMG AND THEIR ALBUM IS SO GOOD*
You described it perfectly. It builds into the insane buildup. And people who listened to the “snippet” was waiting for the hard bass! Im so exited you can feel it
First listen I kinda liked it, its different, but that's why I love ive, they're very kpop but very unique, at the end of the day I think it might be their best album
I mean I'm pretty sure all of them can rap pretty well. I know Yujin and even Wonyoung can... although I don't think Wonyoung has rapped since PD48. I don't think I've ever heard Liz but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if she could.
What do you think about it now? I was like you when i first heard it. I almost called it a disappointment but it grew on me and for me its on love dive level! When it grows you wait to the end and enjoy the build up lol, its fine hating it on the beginning
I think im starting to enjoy it more now , but tbh its not a song that im seeking out to hear but when it comes on I enjoy it , I did listen to the rest of the album and I LOVED it

Easily their best album. Not only the production but the members have truly grown into themselves.
해야(Heya) is the word calling for the sun in Korean. 해(He) is the sun(noun).
And they are not cats. Ther're tigers!
Incredible MV!! Heya Heya Heya
Liz & Leeseo 🔥🔥

Yes. Leeseo was trained as a rapper when she first trained and was scouted by starship. She’s a sub rapper.

해야 (Haeya) means "Sun" or "(calling) sun!"
HEYA is based on an original folktale IVE created.
"a tiger who loves the sun"
tells the story of a tiger who is off on a search for the sun, who is hidden in the darkness, metaphorized by IVE
in the opening of the song yujin was holding a pipe and there's a smoke coming out of rei's mouth...
in Korean folk tales instead of “once upon a time” they’d sometimes use “back when tigers used to smoke”
** the idea came from a Korean folktale titled "해와 달이 된 오누이/sun&moon siblings"
