You might have already found the phone, or tried this already, but try getting on to a laptop or computer or just any electrical device, and go onto apple.com find my iPhone, you have to enter your Apple ID and password, then follow the steps in order to find the location of the phone, it doesn't matter if it is turned off or if the app 'find my iphone' isn't connected to the phone. It will make a loud sound where the phone is so you can track it. Hope that helps even a little bit :)
