Thanks for the tour of Columbiana. It was nice to see where we used to live. It has definitely been a while 1990. It was such a super friendly little town. I think Stricklands owned everything on it. I miss it. I live in WV now. Spent most of my life here. Love your program.
The Silhouette, I remember making those Mother's Day, when I was in elementary school 1960's. I have mine, my sister's and brother's. If you want the black version. They aren't that hard to make. Bright light, white butcher paper to trace silhouette (play with how close subject is to paper in order to get sharp silhouette) onto first, then you transfer that to black construction paper. cot out your silhouette, place that on an oval or square piece of white paper and frame. Easy.
For a change you can change out the backing on the silhouette with different papers to either match a specific decor like floral or checks or holiday or even different solid color like black. Fun to play with!

Love the lamp idea! You can do the baking soda method to achieve that look by adding baking soda (or baking powder if that’s all you have on hand) to your chalk paint. Just add the baking soda to the paint and you will notice immediately the texture becomes thicker and takes on a cement texture. The real magic is really when it dries though. Can’t wait to see what you come up with either way and look forward to the video.
I have always loved those silhouettes. About 10 years ago my mom gave me mine from when I was five. I can still remember my kindergarten teacher tracing my shadow for it. She was a clever teacher as these were mother's day gifts. That one you bought would be cute at 4th and Valentine time for sure. I can't wait for your July 4th decor tour!

It really makes a difference what you let in your life such as watching the news all the time I know we need to be informed of some things but I won’t watch it every day anymore and I feel better! So many good finds I thought for certain you were gonna get the red white and blue crotchet quilt ! Love the bread box but also agree it would be so cute as a planter! Amazon has some good finds I just got a flour sack table runner that I love!
Here is a great tip if you are really into Farmhouse style. Check out your local Tractor Supply Company. They sell decor. I bet they would for sure have those feeders you are looking for, but they wouldn’t be true “vintage”. I have bought a lot of stuff from there and it’s reasonably priced and you can also get substantially sized pieces if you’re looking for wall decor or items for the top of a hutch.
I LOVE tractor supply! I have several goodies from there🥰 I haven’t found the feeder I want at my local store but maybe online 🙌 I’ll have to go search there!

I love the lamp idea! I did something similar with a pair of lamps in my bedroom. I believe Rustoleum makes a spray paint that mimics the stone/pottery look and it is textured. There are several chain hotels near the interstate in Clanton, and a new holiday inn 🥰 I would definitely recommend eating/visiting Peach Park for bbq and ice cream and the scenery. I would also recommend the neighborhood grill in downtown Clanton (check out their Facebook for menu) and also The Hickory Chip for a steak. If you like seafood, there is a WONDERFUL restaurant down the road in Pratville called the Catfish House (my absolute fav!!!)

Waverly chalk paint in mineral. Mix it with baking soda and the use the waverly white wax on it and it will look just like cement!
