    I was in Victoria 46 years ago today (August 27, 1974--that fell on a Tuesday!) In Victoria--my first time ever in Canada where I was last year--also in Victoria--I remember seeing the following places: the provincial capital building, Fable Cottage which had elves before they would become famous with a company called Keebler (lol!), and Butchart Gardens where I saw a puppet show called 'Boy Meets Girl!' Maybe in 1974, boy (me) met Canada; girls would come two years later (lol)! Next day I went to Vancouver.

      @@VeeTravels Oh thanks. I also seen your video on the ferry more than once. They all have superb video quality. There something special about coming to the island. I usually book a flight to Vancouver and then I take the bus to the Tsawwassen ferry terminal and then hop on the ferry and then come over to Swartz bay and catch a bus into Victoria. This trip in June I will be going up island to Campbell River to visit my dad. I'm staying on the island for 11 days. I usually watch videos on TH-cam to get me hyped for the trip

    I actually never realized how European parts of Victoria look. Not just in the British influence, but certain parts of this video almost look like urban centres in Central Europe

      No kidding! I thought the same too.

    • @Somethingaweful
      @Somethingaweful 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most Canadian cities are heavily British and European influenced. After all we are a commonwealth nation. And the Queen is our leader.

    • @TexKimball
      @TexKimball 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Somethingaweful I'm aware but I mean in the modern city planning sense; the large squares, foot traffic alleyways, massive bikelanes, no skyscrapers, etc which are not common on Mainland BC outside of a few instances in downtown Vancouver, and skyscrapers dot the skyline all the way to the fraser valley. But it seems Victoria looked to modern Europe for inspiration. At a glance it looks more mainland European rather than British, aside from the government buildings.

Most noise seems to be from traffic and as I have been there many times traffic noise is no where near the volume on your video. Not only gives wrong impression it is so irritating I have to stop watching the video, which is quite good.
