I wasn't successful, time and time again, too scared. Too scared to pull through. So I kept existing, kept living. I started finding things that made me feel more grounded. I started brushing my hair a certain way, started styling it. It made me feel more complete, more human, or maybe it was just something that I could control, unlike everything else in my life. Then I went and ate with my dad and brother, I got plastered after drinking a bit too much, and I was having a great time, smiling and laughing with them, showing affection that I can't when I'm sober. I got home and went to the bathroom and, while drunk, tried to end it in the bathroom again. But like before, I wasn't successful. I just couldn't push hard enough to break more than the surface level. I think this was worse than before. Because I thought things were getting better. I thought I was having a good time. I thought life was... nice for once. But it wasn't. I don't know if it's going to get better at this point.

I'm starting to forget what it was like to be genuinely happy now.
