HUZZAH! We welcome all converts to the spectacular Golden Church of Bridge And Parks. Huge props to the new series. Loving it and cant wait to see this city!
@whiteandnerdytv_ you were such a good sport in that civ 6 game. So happy to see your strategy in action here on Ursa’s channel. Thanks for the creation!
Ooh, I have been WAITING for this video ever since the CivGive! Can't wait to see how insanely broken you get this strat Ursa - and shoutout to White&Nerdy for almost winning with this broken strat 😂
appeal is such a fun and interesting mechanic to work with, especially when you feel like you have mastered some of the more given ways to play. one of my faves still is creating epic snow cities where you use the amundsen scott centre to boost appeal to adjacent tiles that are adjacent to a preserve. Snow tiles can have very high appeal when by coast! Basically making something out of nothing :D
I remember a screenshot where a guy managed to get 700ish Tourism from a *single* National Park. It was a true-start Brazilian play. He said the city generated like 3500 Tourism with only 6 National Parks.
@UrsaRyan Be careful. He also said the Tourism modifiers are acting odd. When adding Computers (+25%), Environmentalism (+25%), Golden Gate Bridge (+100%), and Wish You Were Here (+100%), he only got ×5.6 (+460%), going from 126 to 705. How do we end up with an odd number (705) after applying two ×2 modifiers from the wonder and the dedication, starting with a even number (126)? This... This is the ✨ *Civilization VI magic !* ✨
Somehow it's almost as though you were speaking directly to me with the end of that intro. 10.45am and it was a freshly brewed coffee (don't tell spiff) been looking forward to this one since hearing it teased during that absolute carnage game you streamed. Which I feel must have been somehow rigged, if you'd been given spiffs start thing would have gone much differently.
You should have added the mod that lets every civ work mountains! It only adds 1 production per mountain, but it means you can improve them with preserves.
Worth plinting out GGB is arguably even better with seaside resorts mixed in since they're somewhat easier to place and can get triple tourism yields from Cristo
Without CypRyan's Wide & Tall preserves this will yield rookie numbers, for tall empires it has preserve tall extension, which gives +100% tourism from national parks that you can build later in the game
Cant wait for this series to get derailed by yet another AI being greedy and declaring war for no reason. Edit: Apolo with the Dodgeballs again. Thankfully Ursa is wonderful.
My biggest personal problem with parks is that my eyes get too big for my faith wallet. I make all these cities with a corner left aside for perfect national parks...and then only have enough faith to buy 6 or 7. Instead i should have made one "usless" city that was nothing BUT parks and industrialize the rest unless there is room for a preserve.
My problem with golden gate is thst normally that city that can build it has like half the tiles as water. I think I've gotten two national parks max in any one of my golden gate cities. I built it once to a one tile Citrus resource, with district placement wrecking a bunch of national park spots. Listen, mate, we weren't getting our oranges fast enough, don't worry about it...what's tourism anyways? Awful close to terrorism, if you ask me.
I've made Golden Gate in King of the Wonder monthly challenge. It helped greatly as a bridge to connect two lands, since there was only domination victory available. Combined with railroads tanks have transferred very fast.

I hope my attempt will atone!
In a single sentence, Ursa educates both spiffs viewers and Potota's on how to treat the only true beverage for real men.
