My personal preference and overall favorite for hunting cartridges or larger rifle cartridges is the 30-06. I grew up shooting it and ballistically it is amazing and it is very very versatile all around. I purchased my first AR 308 a couple weeks ago and it is chambered in 308. Granted they have one in 30-06 but... It is absurdly expensive. I wanted an AR-10/AR-308 for quite some time now. Finally have one. In addition to what I know of the 308 and what it's capable of I figured I would do a little more research. Thank you for this video. 🇺🇸
THANK You, TC! I think you're the first person I've ever heard publicly admitting that the 308 was derived from the 300 Savage, something us fans of AWS have been saying for half a century!
Strong enough to take buffalo, accurate enough for long range, feeds smoothly in bolt action, semi-auto, lever action, and full-auto. Has an easy recoil and can be configured to shoot heavy, deep penetrating rounds or light, fast, low recoiling rounds. Fantastic out of a short barrel, and with large performance gains out of a long barrel. The .308 does all these things with aplomb.
Sorry I don't agree. Actually you shouldn't shoot 308 Winchester in a rifle like the M14 because of pressures and wall thickness of the case. It can cause a ruptured cartridge case.
