This is the greatest book ever written about Churchill about his time as Prime Minister during world war 2. Period. The best book about the time period before he took office is still Last Lion by William Manchester.

I couldn’t put this book down! It is a great story of a family and a nation that would not back down to the madman, Hitler.
    Larson once again nails it!

Erik Larson gives us a look into Sir Winston Spencer Churchill's time in the heart of WWII's impact on his country, as well as the family and "team" that helped him lead The United Kingdom through to the end. My paternal grandmother was fascinated with Churchill's early writing and "reports", starting with the Boer War. Her fascination would lead to my father gaining his middle name of Winston, which was passed on to me. I advise those who have an interest in history and writing to read some of what Churchill himself wrote - pick a time in the early 20th century with momentous events, and Churchill probably has something written about it.

Thank goodness for Erik's book. A portrait of real leadership. So much different than what Donald Trump offers!
