It is on Florida Bay, so is safer than the Atlantic side in terms of waves. Florida Bay is much shallower for miles out so waves break and crumble far off shore compared to the Atlantic side. On the other hand, there is not much land distance between the Atlantic Ocean and Florida Bay over the Florida Keys islands. In a BIG storm one could get waves all the way across the islands. But, most of those houses have been there for a long time, so either the island is due for a cleansing wash over, or it won't happen at all. Place your bets. Otherwise, nice. Very Nice.
