- In this video we start our new series on the channel! The Hunt for a 40 inch snook. Whenever I decide to go target monster snook I will be uploading a new video to the series. We will be doing this on artificial only too! No live bait, no cut bait, just lures. Stick around to the end of the video to hear about the two trips from this video and the patterns we picked up on! Thank you all for watching! Please like the video, comment down below, and don't forget to subscribe!

Nice video. Yankeetown is an awesome place for snook.
Thanks man! Yankeetown is definitely my favorite place to fish for Snook and Redfish!
Always a blast fishing with you homie
Let’s go fishin.!
Let’s make it happen sometime!
First comment! Great video as always man. Tell Nick I said nice Kingfish 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks brother!! And I will 😂😂
The duck noise😂
😂😂😂
what are those fire kicks you got on ?
They are Reef water coast shoes! I wear a lot of hey dudes and they feel very similar to them but they are perfect for the boat cause they have drain holes in case you have to get your feet in the water.
Nice day out, and great job. What lb test are you using on most of your braid and leader rigs?
Typically I throw 10-15 lb braid on my reels. As far as leader, I usually use at least 30lb when fishing for Snook. I used to only use Flourocarbon but starting to use 30lb mono now since it’s more abrasion resistant than flouro.
@@Captainjoshmartin thanks man. Any other pros or cons to mono as opposed to fluro? I always use fluro also, but is mono more visible or anything?
@@stephend3494 Mono might be a tad bit more visible than Flouro, but it doesn’t really matter if you are using a reaction style bait like a jerk bait or fluke style. Because they aren’t looking at it for a while, they are just reacting to it. If you’re throwing paddle tails or creature style baits and fishing really clear water I would throw Flouro because the fish look at the bait longer. If the water is a little stained or just not very clear then you can get away with mono.
@@Captainjoshmartin thanks alot josh for being helpful. What is your main thing you look for to decide reaction type vs paddles and creatures?
@@stephend3494 Anytime, always happy to help! And I tend to throw more paddle tails from the Spring-Fall. Creature baits work well in the winter time. I usually use more creature style baits for redfish feeding on the bottom. But I’ll always use a paddle tail for snook as they are usually feeding on bait fish over shrimp and crabs. I’ll look at what kind of bait is around me and the activity I’m seeing to determine what kind of lure I’ll throw.
Flarehawk jigs seem to get bigger bites
Thanks Ben! I’ll have to give those a try!
Awesome video!
