Great job! My favorite is your purple and blue mix, gorgeous! Mr. Bod's has a lovely rustic quality too. Btw, if you love the result - you aren't doing it wrong! Keep up the great work! 😉👍🧶🕷🕸
I love them!!! I think the colorful one remind me of Skittles candy. I would love to see you crochet something with them to see how it turns out. Great job Mr and Mrs BOD!!!!!!
oh my gosh what are you saying?? your kitchen is spectacular!! so much better than my rat hole!! i love your mixer, stove, and the whole kitchen!! looks very homey!!
Crystal and Mr. Bod - those them hand dyed yarns are so great. I love that deep red and the purple one is awesome. I enjoyed the fun you both had. Mr. BOD’s looks like stone wash!
You did a great job! Just remember not to put the yarn into hot water out of cold water or from cold into hot. Next time don't run cold water into the pot of hot water....this will shock the yarn and felt it. Let it cool down in the pot or lay it in the sink to cool down and then rinse with cool water an a small amount of dish soap. Heat, agitation and soap cause felting. It is fine to use plain wool instead of superwash....I do it everyday. You just have to be more careful. You can simmer the yarn... just dont let it boil....that is agitation. Also try not to stir it around alot. I simmer it until the water runs clear and then I remove it and let it cool down and then wash it. It is very normal for a little color to wash out. You dont have to add vinegar to the pot because koolaid has citric acid in it which acts as the mordant. The way mr. BOD dyed his skein should have been put in the microwave or into a steamer. It was very clever of him to think of it though. The main thing is that you had fun and had some great results. Don't be down on yourself because you really did great for your first time. It doesn't appear that your yarn felted either. My mom was a hairstylist and I received many unwanted perms and haircuts. I hope ya'll have a great day!!!
It looks great! Totally agree with Heather. I’m a small time indie dyer. I do everything you did but, I always ad a little vinegar. It should be just below boiling and let it cool in the pot. And Mr Bod you should have microwaved or steamed it in your plastic wrap. Start checking microwave after about 5 minutes. If steaming or the pot soak 25 minutes
I absolutely love your genuine flow❣ We are real people and NONE of us are perfect , our children will embarrass us at the drop of a dime 😂🤣😌 the live for those moments lol ❣🤦♀️My 4 year old would have tried to snatch the phone to surf TH-cam ! I love the yarn colors!
I love love love them all! The first one is the best with all of the colors. I never thought about doing this before, but you got me thinking now! Wonderful! Thank you!
I love the blue and purple. That came out nice. I think you guys did a good job for your first try. Crystal, I dont know why you worry so much about bad comments. You can't please everyone all the time. People are going to be negative sometimes. In my opinion y'all did a good job and had fun doing it. That's ALL that matters. Practice makes perfect. Much Love, Peace and Blessings to you, Mr. bod and your family💗😍
Oh my gosh!! What fun I had being a part of this!! You two are the greatest couple! No wonder you have such a great family. Can’t wait to see your crochet projects with these yarns. Thanks so much!!! Fun is the name of the day.
You and Mr BoD reflect such a wonderful loving energy. It filled me with happiness to watch you two in the kitchen - one of the best familial gathering places in my opinion. The love, support and respect each of you have for one another brings joy to me. Loved to see you creating your yarn colourway! It is great to watch how researching, experimenting and trying things out can bring (and did) happiness and a sense of accomplishment. I also love reading the supporting comments from your community here. Encouraging one another helps us get through hard times. Thank you...everyone xoxo
Crystal: You and Mr. BOD did a great job. How I Love watching the two of you work together and having fun. Love and Blessings to one and ALL. Ginger Bowker ✝

I love how the yarn came out! I’ve tried dying things way back in the tyedye era. It was awful rofl!!! First mistake I made was using the bath tub. It took forever to get the red out of the enamel !!!!!! It looked like a crime scene lmao and my mom was a bit perturbed!!! I have to correct you both on one thing though. Blood hounds don’t bark, they sing!!!! My grandfather raised and trained them for many years. His best one was named “Ring a Bell” and I swear you could hear him for what seemed like miles lol!
Everybody has to do it the first time! No one is laughing except at how much fun you guys have. This is how you learn something new and figure out the way you like the best.

Heather if you do the Mr. Bod method 😀, how long should you put it in the microwave or steamer?
