Wow, I didn't know that Mikrotik has such a problem with certificates. The solution is shown doesn't solve the issue when a user connects he gets a warning message! I remember I set up my Ubiquti Controller.... I allowed pre-authorized users to be able to get to my website site (to the actual router and then to the authentication page, whitelisted my webserver). The web server automatically got updated certificated issued by Let's Encrypt... so when they actually come to my captive portal it didn't matter what protocol a user used - it redirected smoothly, without warnings.
why didnt the login page load automatically? You typed the dns name in the browser? I have an existing ssl ca for sstp vpn.i got the info from your article " sstp vpn for win 10",can i make use of the same ssl vpn for the http redirect?
