Oh, Thank you so much. This non techie 76 year old grandma fixed our Firestick, My husband had to unplug everything this morning before the guys came to install new carpet. He forgot what went where and plugged the Firestick cord directly into the cable box. He went to bed frustrated and I’ve been up for hours googling. Finally came to U Tube and found your video. The Amazon charger was still in the extension cord strip in another room.I found it and it’s working, It’s now 3:30 am and too late to watch another episode of my fav, The Man In The High Castle.
Just a note from a electrician.... It makes no difference if you're plugged into the wall, or the power strip as far as power goes. In fact the power strip you were using is plugged into the same exact wall plug you plugged the Amazon power supply..... Just sayin...
I use the original adapter and original cord and I’m plugged directly into the plug outlet and it’s still optimizing. Imgonna buy another one to fix it!!!
Thank you so much. I didn't notice my son switch my Amazon box with a cheap one. I switched it back and BAM it works now after 17hours of missing my shows that's all I had to do🥴😫😫!! ❤
I am having the same problem. My Firestick worked beautifully until I went into the settings and selected update, NOW it has the same problem you have and I do not know how to fix it. it must be a software glitch in the Firestick itself as it only started after I tried to update its software. Right now I switched to my Roku device, but I like Firestick better when it works.
Did your Firestick come with a short HDMI extender? If you are using the extender, remove it and plug the Firestick directly into the TV's HDMI port. That solved the problem for me.
Found my old firestick and wanted to use it after several months. Thought it had kicked the bucket and I would have to buy a new one when I saw the message and it rebooted several times. Glad I saw your video
Did not experience the problem with a Firestick 4K but did with the regular Firestick, even using the adapter and cable that came with the stick.. Yes, using a dedicated wall plug instead of a well loaded power bar worked. I read that the Stick uses 900 milliamps and the adapter is rated at 1 amp max. So, that leaves little wiggle room. If the adapter is being short-changed a bit by other devices on a power bar, I guess that's a factor.
Many people plug their fire stick into the TV usb port to power it which can only provide 500mA, it works but can easily cause your TV to not power on due to Firestick draining the capacitors. Anyway, regardless of what device you use to power it, make sure it's a 2A or greater charger and a thick high quality cable. You DON'T need to use the Amazon brick, that's a common misconception. Match the 2a / 5v on a decent branded plug or even a mains USB hub that runs 2A@5v through its sockets. That last part is important, a lot of USB hubs drop their power output down to split between devices so if it has a max output of 5A @ 5V, once you plug more than 2 devices in the current will drop. Old iPhone chargers are only 1A and the same is usually correct for cheap charger bricks from places like Poundshop(Dollar Store, I guess) don't bother with them, for any devices you care about.
Its 1/29/23 and I've experienced this problem for the past several weeks. I just removed my power from a power strip and plugged into a wall outlet. Still experiencing the continual rebooting.
I have a fire stick and I also have it plugged in to a power strip but that's all I have plugged in my power strip and I haven't had a problem with my fire stick Thanks Guy for the heads up you're the man 👍👍😊 and Thank you for all the hard work you put into it May God bless 🙏 you and your family 🙏 and friends
Thank you! basically the firestick needs a thick usb cable if you don't have the oem, and 5v, 2.0 A charging brick. I was inadvertently using a 2.5 v, 1.0 A.
I have changed to original adaptor and also moved the power to wall plug and finally removed the HDMI additional extension which comes with the fire stick and directly plugged into hdmi to tv and tried....wow..amazing...it worked..Thansk a lot for your video
This did work! Thanks. Basically, it was a connection issue. My HDMI outlet was was worn. I had to find a proper working HDMI outlet. People, just check anything dealing with the connection. Thank you again for uploading this.
Hi thank you for this info. One thing i found by trial and error and luck is when the optimizing is just about to time out say the last 20 seconds or so start clicking the center button randomly until it times out. It will then shoot over to the home page. Works for me.
I only had one other item in a power strip along with the Fire Stick but I plugged the Fire Stick into a wall outlet and that fixed the problem. Thanks.
Ok, so after trying every trick in multiple videos....I finally got my firestick out of the loop of death. My fix was accomplished by switching the original power cord and adapter with a different one. I tried multiple ones. But finally I used a white one that I don't remember what it was for, but after I switched to that one and let it go through one loop that came on after I powered my firestick back on, it worked again.. hope that helps.
This did not work at all. I even put it directly into wall socket. I get that loop and immediately after it the msg that my device is not connected and then right back to the loop. Tried changing the block with various new and used blocks to no avail. This all started after a so called update that came on it's own. Also all the tricks to reset the firestick do not work either.
Bad power strip. Nothing here is true. Plug directly into outlet and end up with a lightning strike taking out your entire system because you have a $3 power strip that is shot. Make sure you have surge protection.
I am using actual oem supplied adaptor and cable.. still I AM STUCK on same screen.i even interchanged with another one original cable and adaptor, still its the same issue
I keep getting the “optimizing” notification. Then it completes and the main menu comes up. When I click on any app the screen goes blanck/black and nothing I do with the remote brings it back. I can unplug the firestick and plug back in then the process repeats. Optimizing, main menu, click app black screen. Frustrating.
Wish they had a button combination to initialize the optimizing storage feature whenever it is actually needed instead of just a factory reset i mean come on when u reset something from factory nothing should need optimization to begin with but over time after apps are installed they would need optimization after a period of time so optimization after a factory reset optimizes what? There's nothing on it besides it would fix alot of operating system bloat issues
Gracias
Ummm, Thats not the way power strips work, there is no power loss on the power strip. 110 doesn't work that way. Power loss is due to the original brick, not the power strip. If you would have plugged the original Amazon plug in the power strip it would have worked fine. Its a power issue with the block, not the power strip. Power strips do not steal power. They are there to prevent your device from power surges, ergo the name, surge protector. If your other devices were to have a power loss they wouldn't even power up. This is why power bricks and adapters have a rating on them as they don't even use 110. They are based off of 12 volt or other power. So, yes to the Original power supply or something similar, but no to plugging it directly into the wall to prevent power surges and power spikes which could definitely damage your devices, not just your Firestick.
after the system storage optimization message, my fire stick came up with the screen below, and when i press the 'Home' button, this is the screen. if i click on 'setting' the screen goes dark and i get three blinking lights scrolling across the bottom of the dark screen, as if the system is 'thinking.' however, the settings never open. please help.
it did not work I used different power cables andchargers I even used a new axon fire tv charger & cable but still the problem promises what should I do
my original cord was damaged and am using a different one now. i still have the cube it came with and i’ve plugged it into the wall. however still getting the loop. will i have to buy a brand new cord that is supplied by amazon???
I unplugged my power cord and it worked. HOWEVER, now I have a big white screen on the bottom and it tells me what program it is on. How do I get rid of that?
I’m going to show you how to fix this OK use the right power adapter OK and cable OK, ok so what you need to do is OK OK OK OK OK OK OK OK OK OK OK OK OK OK OK
I am using the same power cable and adapter and trying for 3 days with no luck at all. I have also tried 5 different adapters and 3 cords with 0 success...what else can be done other than the power stuff?
Other than getting a plug that's Amazon. Aka the original plug but and cord. Mine is still doing it. And it was working this morning til I moved it to another room. 😩😩😒
Mine must be broken all these videos all say the same and mines original plug and cable plugged into a wall even bought new replacement Amazon plugs and cables but nope still doesn't work! So tried it on a different TV in another room but nope still stuck 😂

I would guess it all depends on incoming voltage ? Should be 110volts+ ?
I would agree - from another electrician.
Ac out put 110 or 220 does not make a difference tried all, seperately plugged in seperately with new power adaptor and cord still the same.
I have 2 tv and 2 fire sticks.one is working and another is not working I same conditions.then what is your opinion.

Using the OEM brick and cable, into the wall. Still going through the loop

It's more the actual power plug. That's what it usually is. Thanks
