Please consider adding Prison Song to the list - it doesn't have a music video, so you may be tempted to skip it, but I think the vocals are interesting (especially the not singing parts, and how these are still somehow catchy!) - it's a wonderful example of how SOAD spread political protests through music.
For something progressive metal wise, check out Tool. I would start at The Pot. Greatest 4 musician band around. Great lyrics (get a lyric video) and god-like drumming.

Recommend starting with Pull Me Under from early in their career, then the 12 step series which follows drummer Mike Portnoy writing about getting clean as he went through it over 5 albums. The series covers all of their musical bases and also showcases their growth over the peak years of their career.
