This is really good. Thanks. This video shows exactly what I am missing inside my recently bought1938 JD Unstyled A. This oil outlet pipe with plate was not in at all, also the plate underneath the filter was not in and the filter was some kind of floating in the filter housing, not filtering at all. My problem is to get these parts, I have the numbers but can't find them at all. The oil filter housing also on top, where above the delivery block is fitted with 3 capscrews accessible inside the filter housing, is really bend, I have to flatten this. If you know a supplier of the AA2096R, A2530R, AA2095R that would be great, Thanks

Go to Lind Brothers or Martin's Repair for parts. Both are located in Indiana. As for flattening the top, I covered that in one of my earlier videos, part 2 maybe? It's where I installed the oil lines. Basically pound it flat with a hammer and check with a square. Just get it close and don't over tighten the filter cap in the future (I understand you didn't do it but just saying for the future). Good luck. - Daniel

I bought the 75 dollar john deere loose leaf manual and the first thing I looked up was
that oil filter picture in the parts manual. My stud just spins and spins won't hold still
to put the bottom cast cap on/ won't hold still to remove the cap

I understand. It's a bad design. If your stud is spinning you are in for a painful fix. Someone over tightened it and stripped the threads. It's not suppose to be very tight. You'll need to take the oil head out. Your opinion won't get any better after going through the process of fixing it. Do you understand what all you need to do to fix it? Otherwise I can certainly provide some help. Thanks for watching, sorry to hear about your issue.

@@DanielFarmChannel thks for confirming my thoughts on my (JD-620) you say stripped oil filter stud. I hate to tear it down out side, so later in the summer when I get caught up and get a space inside I'll tell you what I found. and if I can find a new head in a tractor salvage yard. I can't wait to work on it. Mainly because I want to drive it around.
I've never driven a 2 cylinder john deere.

@@janbill79 call Lind Brothers in Indiana. They will have any parts you need. They are great guys. Good luck. Let me know how it goes.

Daniel, what is that manual you were referencing and where did you find it?
    thanks.

That is the John Deere B service manual, SM2004. Best dang manual I have ever read in my life. I recommend it to anyone who has an A, B, or G. Yes, it's for a B, but everything in it applies to A's and G's due to the design similarities (just different scale for the most part). It tells you step by step how to repair, replace, or inspect every piece on that tractor with great pictures. I recommend getting it from Peaceful Creek Manuals. I got the binder that included the service manual for the hydraulics, carb, and electrical system, but that is up to you and if you think you will use it. Thanks for watching.
