This is perfect I want to replace my radio in my 05 impala to either go Bluetooth or aux cord rather than plain radio and the way you made this video will for sure save me a lot of time!!!
"I like to remove this for fun" Ya crazy bastard!!!!!, sound just like me! Great Simple to the point video, thank you so much. I need to trace down 2 shorts that occurred overnight. On the Clstr/BCM fuse in Left IP, and Radio Fuse in Right IP. Oddly enough the common thing between these is the DLC circuit, somehow the serial data line must be shorted and its dropping battery voltage from 12.7 to 4.5 to 5.5. I was trying to get at connectors under and inside the stinking dash but its near impossible especially when you have several vertebrate fused together, so hopefully this lets me get back there to break a few conn's to isolate the faulty thing-a-ma-jig. I hope its a shorted wire, I had for this to be my BCM or DLC circuitry. Thanks again!
Thanks for the helpful guide! My new dash bezel just came in the mail. Original one took "Tan" literally and was so sun damaged, I couldn't work on the starter without it crumbling to pieces
For the after market radio same car but 2001 how is the red power wire tide in since the harness I got for factory plug to plug is just a loose wire the ones I’m use to came with it in the actual harness itself
I have a 2003 Chevrolet Impala that is missing alot of the Dash Screws. Could you possibly tell me what the sizes and lengths are where I could try to find equivalent replacements? Thanks again,
I sold the car about 4 years ago so I wouldn't have any idea at this point. You may be able to check online for a diagram, or go to a junkyard that has one and raid it for the hardware
What about the passenger airbag? Do I need to do anything to keep it from ejecting? Any OFF switch or fuses needing to be removed or turned off?? Might seem like a dumb question but I dont want mine to go off while I'm taking my dashboard off to fix the heater.
amazing video! thank you so much. i’m looking to do this for a carplay receiver install. would i be able to remove the dash without removing the driver’s side footwell panel?
Hey I just recently found out that I need to change my headlight relay in my 04 impala however I now know it’s not under hood like a normal relay would be. Is this the process I have to go through to change it? And if so do you have any tips on how I can make the process easier for me?
It's behind the drivers side fuse panel. You may be able to pull the panel out completely or pull off the dash and reach around it as the headlight relay is on the backside of the panel. That said, the relay rarely goes bad. If you have lost high or low beam lights, it's likely the turn signal switch.
i want to take off the dashboard because it's not sitting properly and vibrating. my mechanic thinks it shrunk from the cold and heat over the years but i don't believe it. i think it wasn't put on perfectly. any tips?
Could be some broken clips not holding it tight. It's not the best quality plastic and being that these cars are pushing 20 years old, things tend to get brittle
Not exactly sure as I didn't have one but it should be just another plug. It may have some sort of clip holding it in similar to the hazard switch so watch out for that
Don't take it apart too often ounce that dashboard bissell cover starts to break your done and good luck you trying to get another one it's a bi!tch getting another bissell cover used one...
New owner of a 2004 impala.
I have so many questions. Great car in my opinion I love it.

How did it go?
@@RDMotoringif I did this and the top part of the dash is starting to lift off is there anyway to fix this?

This was a fantastic and very informative video. Helped me change the dash bezel on a 2002 Impala.
I'm glad it was helpful!
I am looking for that whole piece itself for my 04 impala ss where can I find one
eBay I found one for my 03 I'm going to replace it tomorrow after seeing this video I hope it's easy

Super helpful! Thanks man!

Mines crumbling right now, I’m trying to find another one. Where did you get yours?

Very clear, detailed, helpful video. Nice work - thank you :)

@@RDMotoring Okay, sounds good, thanks again for responding, I really appreciate it.
The screws in my 2003 Impala had 6mm socket heads on them, made under dash easier.
yup! mine do as well, I was just trying to simplify it down to one tool
Quick question. What if it’s in a salvage yard? And can’t get into gear
You still might be able to work the dash around the shifter but it will make it a lot more difficult
Thanks, that’s exactly what I did. Got a small crack but it’s not noticeable when installed!
Thanks, Great Help, whipped out some wiring quick

You don't have to worry about that if you're only doing what I show in the video. However if you want to be safe you can just disconnect the battery.
Awesome thanks bro super helpful 👍🏾
You have to take dash off to remove/replace heater core? And the wheel doesn't have to come off?
Yes, the heater core is below the dash and you need to remove all the panels to get there. No, the wheel doesn't have to come off
Thx now I can help my mom with her car problem
I’m
Excellent video!! 🤜🏼🤛🏼
I wish the new Impalas had column shifter options!
So when I removed it the top part of the dash started to come off is there anyway to fix this?
You may be able to just push it back into place, but it's tough to say without examining what's actually happening in person
amazing video! thank you so much. i’m looking to do this for a carplay receiver install. would i be able to remove the dash without removing the driver’s side footwell panel?
I don't think so as the footwell panel is covering 2 screws you need to access for the dash
@ okay, makes sense. thank you!

Hi, did you change your headlight relay? Or was your headlight issue caused by the turn signal switch?
Thank you for this.
Do You Need an Adapter for the Back of the New Radio?
That's tough to answer, if you're talking about the wiring harness then it most likely depends on what head unit you get
Yeah did this for a heater core….lots o fun!
So much fun lol
How do u remove the arm recast console

@@shangrila73eldorado You can do that. You'll never know what the issue is unless you look
