Yes as Muslims we should say peace and blessings be upon the prophet whenever we mention his name and it's not from the culture but from the Quran (Al-Ahzāb) (56) Indeed, Allāh confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [Allāh to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allāh to grant him] peace. And yeah it's ok & nice when non-muslim do it is a sign of respect.

Is it true that you believe in a book of fair tales? You have talking trees, talking ants, magic rings, bird General Al hudhud and it's bird army, magic carpets, dead standing for a year, dogs guarding sleepers and so on. This sounds like 1001 Arabian nights.
Please prove me wrong by showing that just one of these fairy tales is true? Just tell me where I can find the Gog and Magog people and the wall that they are behind?
Your hadith say that there are 999 of them for every believer, they have horses, and they will fire arrows on the day of judgment on mecca. If there are 1 billion believers, there are 1 trillion gog and magog and their horses. Why can't anybody find them except in a book of fairy tales??

13:20 It's not a cultural thing, it's hinted at in the Quran, and specified in the Hadith. Not only when we hear or say the name of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w., but also for other prophets' names. It's a form of prayer to praise the prophets, so yes; it's a good thing to do even if you're not a Muslim (yet)
18:15 Yes, the first Kabah was built in the time of prophet Adam a.s., but it was destroyed at the time of the major flood in the time of prophet Nuh a.s. Later on, prophet Ibrahim a.s. and Ishmail a.s. instructed by Allah to rebuild the foundation of the first Kabah so it became the Kabah that we all know today
*one more addition to that; this is one of the verses from the Bible that blew me away the first time I came across it:
Then the book will be given to the one who cannot read, saying, “Read this, please.” And he will say, “I cannot read.” - Isaiah 29:12
Remember the story when prophet Muhammad s.a.w. received the first revelation from the angel Jibreel?
"...The angel came and said, ‘Read!’ The Messenger of Allah s.a.w. said, ‘I am not a reader'..."
    29:00 You're doing dawah even when you're not yet a Muslim... 😊

12:25 I can see from your face and your smile that you are imagining yourself standing in their toe to toe and shoulder to shoulder praying with your brothers glorifying God. That made me smile as well. I'm enjoying learning my faith again with you and you also opening my eyes and ask question I as a born Muslim never thought of.
You can go to any mosque in the prayer time and get inside. Ask for help and tell them you are here to learn and experience the Muslim prayer. I know from the changes on your face smiling looking at these men and you are thinking" I would love to just feel what they feel doing this".
Go ahead brother you are most welcome to get in any mosque there is no difference. Just make sure you reach to an Imam or anyone inside and let them know that you are not Muslim and you are here to experience prayer and learn. The only reason I'm telling you this is just because I don't want you to feel neglected or unnoticed because they might think you are just another Muslim, and you came to pray.

12:45 Allah instructed the believers to supplicate/send blessings and salutations to the prophet Mohammed PBUH considering the following verse in the Quran:
"Surely Allah and His angels bless the Prophet; O you who believe! call for (Divine) blessings on him and salute him with a (becoming) salutation." - Al Ahzab, verse 56.
Also, there are many Hadiths which speak about honoring the prophet Mohammed PBUH, such as the Hadith narrated through a number of chains of narration from Anas and others, which states that the Prophet climbed up on the Minbar, and then said,
    Amin, Amin, Amin.
It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, why did you say Amin.''
    He said:
Jibril came to me and said,
"O Muhammad, he is doomed who hears you mentioned and does not say Salla upon you.'' He said, "Say Amin,'' so I said Amin.
    Then he said,
"He is doomed who sees the month of Ramadan come and go, and he has not been forgiven.'' He said, "Say Amin,'' so I said Amin.
    Then he said,
"He is doomed who grows up and both his parents or one of them are still alive, and they do not cause him to enter Paradise.'' He said, "Say Amin,'' so I said Amin.

Muslims always say peace be upon him in Arabic whenever they mention the name of any Prophet. I believe it must be in the Hadith that is why it’s universally said. In fact Muslims feel uneasy if someone mentions the name of any prophet without adding PBUH.

Brother, about saying pbuh : In Quran [33:56] "Indeed Allah and His angels bless the Prophet; O you who have faith! Invoke blessings on him and invoke Peace upon him in a worthy manner." blessing the Prophet means "saying peace be upon him" in Arabic ("sallallahu alayhi wassallam" or "alayhissalam" or in your language for example english "peace and blessings be upon him") So it is incumbent for a muslim to send, at least ONE time in their life time, blessing to the Prophet since it was ordered in Quran. However, since Allah is blessing those who blesses the Prophet so the Prophet often times advised about it for the benefit of muslims. For example some hadiths:
"Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “When you hear the caller to prayer, repeat what he says and then send blessings upon me. Verily, whoever sends blessings upon me, Allah will send blessings upon him ten times. Then, ask Allah to grant me the means of approach, for it is a station in Paradise not befitting but for one servant among the servants of Allah. I hope I am that one servant. Whoever asks Allah to grant me the means of approach, the intercession is permitted for him.”
"Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “No people sit in a gathering in which they did not remember Allah, nor send blessings upon the Prophet, but that it will cause them grief on the Day of Resurrection, even if they are rewarded with entry into Paradise.”
"Abu Mas’ud al-Ansari reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Increase your supplications for blessings upon me on Friday, for no one blesses me on Friday but that his supplication is presented to me."
"Sa’id ibn al-Musayyib reported: Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “Verily, the supplication is suspended between the heavens and the earth. Nothing ascends from it until you send blessings upon your Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.”
"Ibn Abbas reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever forgets to send blessings upon me, he has missed (one of the) path to Paradise.”
and which we bless 5 times daily in our prayers: Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 3370, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 406 --- Ka’b ibn ‘Urjah reported: We asked, “O Messenger of Allah, how do we send blessings upon you and the people of the house? Allah has taught us how to send peace upon you.” The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Say: O Allah, send your grace upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You have sent your grace upon Abraham and the family of Abraham. Verily, You are praiseworthy and majestic. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You have blessed Abraham and the family of Abraham. Verily, You are praiseworthy and majestic.”
so muslims keep sending blessing, in return Allah jj is evalating their level in jannat. But if you are a non muslim, you can also definetely send the blessings. Even if you dont belive in islam, Allah is same Allah and He will reward you definetely (either by making you muslim, or if you decide to die as non muslim, still Allah will reward by giving less punishment in hell just because you kept your respect to the Prophet. So either you are a believer or not, Allah rewards whoever shows respect to his prophets.

yes its also narrated in the hadeeths that we need to say that after mentioning their names .
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "The miser is the one in whose presence I am mentioned but he does not supplicate for me."
    [At- Tirmidhi].
    and another one
'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'As (May Allah be pleased with them) reported:
I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: "Whoever supplicates Allah to exalt my mention, Allah will exalt his mention ten times."
    [Muslim].

Saying PBUH is the most respectful way to honor the prophets. In Quran allah ordered us to do so. In fact, in the Quran, Allah said: (Allah) and his angels are giving peace and blessings to the prophet Muhammad, Oh, believers, pay the prophet respect by wishing him blessings of Allah, and submit to everything he (the prophet) says.
In another verse, Allah Ordered the prophet to pray to allah to give the believers (us) peace and blessings.
Even more, in another verse, Allah said: Allah and his angels are giving the believers peace and blessings.
So, Allah and his angels are giving (Us + the Prophet) Peace and blessings. The Prophet is praying so peace and blessing would be upon us (the believers). So, we are ordered to pay the prophet respect by asking Allah to give him peace and blessings.
In Hadith, Muhammad PBUH sayed that the believer who hear the mention of his name (Muhammad) and yet didn't ask Allah to give him (Muhammad) peace and blessing, that believer is cheap and not a generous person. One of the companions asked the prophet, how can we pay you respect the right way? The prophet sayed: you (the believer) say: Oh, Allah, give you peace and blessings to mohammad and his family as you gave your peace and blessings to Ibrahim and his family. Oh Allah, you are the most glorious and the source of all blessings.
But in short, we say: peace and blessings be upon him. Now it got shorter and became: peace be upon him (PBUH).
In the end, i want say, may Allah grant his peace and blessings to Muhammad, all the Prophets, and All of us.

13:05 “indeed Allah and his angels send blessings onto the prophet, oh people who believe send him blessings and peace as well” the holy Quran.
It is mandated for the prophet Mohammad based on Quran, and recommended for other prophets, and non-muslims can certainly say such and it will be perceived by Muslims as a compliment.

It s not cultural - we are told to say "Peace be upon him" when we say the name of a prophet - but wven Maryam the mother of Isa peace be upon him , we say Masyam peace be upon her -
The Prophet Muhammed ﷺ told us the importance of sending salawat on him as well - May Allahs blessings and peace be upon you Muhammad ﷺ

You may notice when we say the names of the Prophets in the Latin language we don't add the blessings afterwards bcs Christians might not understand it.
But in the Arabic language we add the blessings bcs for us is a must out of respect for this mighty People!

Allah SWT command the believers to pray on Prophet Mohamed in Sorat AlAhzab (Ayah: 56) because he SWT prays on him and the Angles. This is why Muslims out of respect added this PBUH every time we mention Prophet Mohammed name. Also, we add it for all other prophets.

As a muslim I have never really been [overly] impressed or reliant on this approach i.e, [mining Biblical verses] for the purpose of 'establishing the veracity' of the Prophethood claims for Muhammad! For me, the 'proof' is in the pudding'! i.e in the tasting! 'The proof' is the reality of Muhammad!! His life and achievements! His lasting legacy, The Quran, the Sunnah of the Prophet. The Islamic Civilization. The fruits of the Religion of Islam, that Muhammad inaugurated [instituted] on Earth, and followed by millions of believers. And God knows best!

    Answer your question

Yes my brother.. (The peace and blessings be upon them) we used for over all the prophets when we mentioned them it was told us by Allah and he's prophet Mohammad (Peace & blessings be upon him) it has nothing to do with culture it's a pray so we use it before we end our pray so when it is in the prayer so it is a command of Allah.

    It's not cultural
    Quran 33:56
(Indeed, Allah showers His blessings upon the Prophet, and His angels pray for him. O believers! Invoke Allah’s blessings upon him, and salute him with worthy greetings of peace.)
And there a couple hadeeths that encourages us to say peace be upon him.
As for the last question it's not offensive whether you say it or not.

13:20 The Quran told us to do so and also prophet Muhammad told us that when you (Muslims) hear my name you should say may peace and blessings be upon Muhammad. In Arabic it is pronounced Sala Allah Alih Wasalam. What it means is may Allah praise prophet Muhammad in the highest echelon of heaven near by Allah's throne.

It is Allah’s command and encouragement to say peace and blessings upon prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
If one says peace and blessings upon Muhammad ﷺ once allah will send peace and blessings to you 10 times. And if you don’t the prophet’s intercession/pardon in the day of judgement will not include you.
