Unfortunately, this is a result of unethical money grubbing health care executives who forced SNF therapists to classify all patients as ultra high even though they weren't. As a result, I moved to home health. Guess what? Then therapists were forced to keep patients on case load long after they had met their goals or plateaued due to various reasons. Now, corporations are worried that their bottom lines will be effected, so they started laying off people before they even knew how this new payer system would effect them. It's all about the money, they don't give a rip about patients or employees. My guess is that re-hospitalizations will greatly increase as patients will be sent home too early because the SNF's won't be able to keep them. And, it's rare to see progress in 3-4 visits in the home. Good luck everyone.
I don't care how this lady wants to spin the sugar coated version, my job is on the line as a home health occupational therapist. Sorry all you supporters of this payment model, people are loosing their jobs.
