Åhman and Hellvig are such exceptional talents. It will be interesting to see how the changes in style and tactics which they popularized will influence the next generation of players.
All other players look so "has been" in Beachvolleyball when you compare to the SWE players... Speed and hit on the 2nd touch is the point that i teach for more than 20 years... Tall players never ever trust me as they are so slow (and of course very bad pass) but the SWE team is doing perfectly well...
@@marchiolvodi I don't remember the old rule but I know that they were not very good in setting and pass quite a lot. I m saying for the 2nd touch swing as well. 1m far away from the block ; it s most of the time : point
@@marchiolvodi there are a lot more things that would have been whistled, I still hate those soft open hand lobs over the block... But making the court smaller and relaxing/changing some of those rules actually makes it much more fun to watch. But you can only hit option balls if you can handle the serves and actually have accuracy returning them. Combine that accuracy with speed and athleticism makes the Swedish team. But I wonder how long they can actually play that tempo...

years ago those second jump sets would all be double touches…the same goes for fast sets

@@michelle778 the Swedish duo are not the first who played this style of game. in early 2000 there were an australian duo who played the same way.
