My man the G O A T !
This is the only cyclists I admire 🎉🎉🎉
Tapie wanted a Hinault win in '85. In his mind, that would sell more Look pedals in Europe. More money in Tapie 's pocket.
L'American was and is fourclasse. 😊
I appreciate Greg's sharing these accounts, yet to blame Tapie in '86 for the early rocket ride by Hinault seems a little curious. Sure, the French owner likely wanted the most popular Frenchman to win yet again, but it was Bernard who turned those pedals and left Greg by himself far behind. And we all knew about the promise in the press, '86 was for Greg. And it could've been a glorious victory lap for Mr. Hinault, his keeping his word and leaving fans wondering if he could've taken yet another win. And it all worked out, Greg won and Bernard got an identical victor's trophy, or so I've read.
Love how Greg never admits that Hinault was stronger until his crash in St. Etienne. Hinault should have won in 85!
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Typical grumpy man Lemond! The world is against him!
Funny how he could beat all the cheaters and nefarious behind the scenes characters while riding “clean”.
What an ego maniac!
somebody forgot their meds. good luck!
You are so right. Greg’s “I never cheated” mantra is silly. He was taking epo injections from Otto Jacome (whoops, I meant “iron” 😉) thus had a miracle transformation in the giro 89, then won the tour. Greg knows he cheated; he’s just hiding behind his “don’t ask, don’t tell” game.
Also, Greg said the tour got to fast for him in ‘91 or so. But epo was already rife in ‘89.
lemond........that doper that never got caught. oh well. Yet, he loves throwing rocks at lance when greg himself is in a glass house. Pathetic.
