Even though Nagaland is a dry state, alcohol is still available in black market. They have no quality control or check. These cheap products cause severe kidney and liver damage. Most of the time they cause kidney stones.

You see, The Dimapur-kohima-Burma Highway and the Guwahati-Shillong Highway were the two main projects that the GOI welcomed during the same time, and hence we have seen the results now, of where the later stands as compared to us. Pertaining to many issues including Tax collection, demands from UG’s , and perhaps the Govt too curbing its fair share from the project BUDJET, has led to this conditions where the life expectancy of people of Kohima , Dimapur or in general the people of Nagaland has gone down dramatically due the road conditions. But now a bigger question should be who is to be blamed? Atleast the road or the sole lifeline that provides us with our basic necessities (me being from Kohima) should had been the top priority of authority, and everyone related. Why isn’t any organisation trying to see the bigger picture here? Why? We call ourselves Head Hunters, yet solely get blind at our own people? Is it just and fair?
It’s been more then a decade since I have seen the pity condition of the road, why isn’t there any awareness about the land slides and Mother Nature being furious when we curb our trees from her? When will people understand that the land we live is very fragile and gives away very soon. Why won’t people understand that we need trees , why hasn’t deforestation stopped even after we are on LPG? Why? No one can answer and no one would like too, reason : because we are all a part in the bigger picture of being a Culprit. Brace the truth and walk away, or Face it as a Lion, and make the word “Head Hunters” worth of its name.
