I work at a security company in Anchorage, there are a few stories I've heard since I started there and I've had one or two uncomfortable experiences. There's one particular building where one coworker heard a girl giggle behind him after he checked that the floor was clear, another heard a woman yelling on the 3rd floor, but when he got there he just found the woman's restroom propped open and nothing else. Another coworker heard stomping footsteps running on the floor above him after he'd already cleared it. We also found a homeless person living in the basement in a locked room. In another building I took the elevator up to the 6th floor but as the doors opened I noticed a single light on that shouldn't have been on, it should have been pitch black up there. It was the only time I have ever frozen up like that and there was a loud voice in my head telling me to not get out of the elevator, and instead of moving forward my legs involuntarily backed me farther into the elevator and I couldn't move. Another time in that building I stepped out of a bathroom and heard a stairwell door shut, there's been repeated problems with an individual sleeping in the stairwell there and he's usually pretty violent and unstable. I can't stand patrolling that building unless there's somebody with me which is never. Other small things you see, shapes stepping around corners but finding nobody there, odd mysterious sounds, this sort of stuff is pretty common

While doing security overnight I watched a group of white face painted people pick up a dead pigeon..They made a grave for it with rocks & sticks held hands and did a chant. Afterwards they had a sword fight in the middle of the street. It was odd to say the least.

I worked at a candle store, and we had a power out. But as the back up lights went on, I could hear feet shuffling, and not from my co-workers. It was a bit freaky, but nothing to bad, the occasional shadow, or whisper. But in all, the full time in the dark before the back up lights came on was just unnerving.

I work as security for a plaza type area behind it is a kind of forested area. Lately ive been hearing howling n other noises from at night. I heard there are coyotes out there and I have seen a few deer even. Never had a coyote or any other predator aside from the occasional stray cat come close to me. Only had a few incidents that got me nervous, suv that would follow me around one night and another night same thing but with a car. Behind the plaza I swear I saw the end of a drug deal as the body language and feel of it looked like a textbook movie cliche drug deal. From time to time cops will come back behind the plaza n chill or have a quiet lunch or work on their computers. I like having them here though as it makes me feel much safer if anything bad happened. Im not armed so if I encountered a dangerous animal or person Im at a major disadvantage. I use to have a 9mm I kept in my personal car whenever I left my place. I don’t have a carry permit but my state doesn’t require one for having a gun in your car. Unfortunately I had to sell it at a pawn shop for rent money awhile back. While I couldn’t carry it around, it still made me feel better having it in my car just in case I needed it. Now all I have in the car for protection is some knives. Not the most ideal tool but it’s better than using my fists.
Fortunately nothing more than a few car accidents have happened here. My first job as security though was with a different company and the post was much farther from my home and quite isolated. I would be locked in a yard for 8 or more hours at night and all around the area was woods n overgrown vegetation. Area was poorly lit to. Nothing bad happened there but it still creeped me out pretty bad at times.

I work as a Nurses Aide from 10pm to 6 am and I've been told that strange things happen at the nursing home where I work and i kinda shrugged them off until about 3 weeks ago. It started with small things like my stuff moved, doors opening after being closed and weird sounds however about a week after it all started I was coming back in from smoking a cigarette and look down a hall seeing a dark figure walking into a room, I figured it was the nurse, knowing she was wearing black that night and it was about her height, but as i walked by the nurses station i saw her sitting there. I was dumbfounded, but the worst came three days later, it was about 11pm and I was finishing my rounds, I sat down outside and lit a cigarette, put my headphones in and listen to some music, but something felt off, I pull my headphones out and hear growling near me. I look around and see nothing. I quickly walk back in and about 4 hours later I tried to brave myself back there and everything went well, until I saw something moving in the woods behind the parking lot. Now I refuse to smoke outside at work.

Another site that I worked at (also unarmed overnight security) we had 4 domestic abuse cases, a suicide, people breaking into the pool. the creepiest things that happened to me at a neighborhood rec center site where every night I was there I felt like I was being watched from the dark, every so often I would hear what sounded like a woman screaming (this was in a city area that is no where near mountain lions) and every morning around 3am I would hear some one pushing what sounded like a plastic trashcan for 7 minutes. never really saw anything at that site though. the second one happened in 2016 at a site where circuit boards are manufactured during a 3 day blizzard where I got stuck for three days. I would go and do my patrols feeling like I was being followed every where then at one point during the first night I heard what sounded like chains smacking the tile floor, went to investigate the sound only to find nothing there. I was the only person in the building at the time. This sound occurred two more times later during the day, then during my second night I heard a scream around 2 am during one of my patrols once again I could find nothing to explain the sound. After that nothing else happened.

Spent most of my life working night shift jobs, Usually worked in factories and it was always more pleasant at night with the cooler outside air coming in. Worst I ever experienced in all those years was that a polecat got into the factory one night and the stench was nearly enough to make me lose my lunch (Lunch being a relative term as our "lunch" was at 3am), LOL! Next night I decided to eat lunch out in my car and damned if that polecat didn't walk across the parking lot and right under my car. 10 minutes after lunch my foreman came out looking for me. He walked up to my window and asked if I knew lunch was over. I said, yes I did but that I saw a polecat get under my car and hadn't seen it come out yet. He stepped back a few feet and said, "Well, it's gone now". Was still nearby somewhere because the smell was pretty bad. Didn't get in trouble for the extra long break, lol.

I had a night shift job working as a school janitor. The school was supposedly haunted and I didn’t believe it for a second. One night while I was cleaning the kindergarten hall way I heard laughter, and a ball bouncing from the small auditorium. The balls the kids used were all put up but one was in the middle of the floor bouncing up and down. It didn’t really bother me too much but it gave me a spook. I worked there till my blood sugars wouldn’t allow it anymore, they kept rising for an unknown reason. But I’ll never forget that

I do home health and for the last 6 months or so I would hear my client call my name ( my office is situated across a small hall from his room.) this usually starts about 1am-4am but sometimes is louder than other times but every time I go in my clients room he is fast asleep. Then one night I had the blinds open in my office and got this weird feeling I was being watched around 3am. I looked up at the window and saw this white orb and then a face appeared and then it was gone. I was left with the most paralyzing dreadful feeling. When I snapped out of it I closed the blinds and left the room and the feeling dissipated. To this day I still hear my name being called and not by my client but only saw one more Thing which was a face staring at me through the TV screen which was off. Even after saging the house- the family has felt and heard some weird things as well- I still experience these things but the family hasn’t

Once working as a 3rd shift security guard in a mall I was looking over a balcony and I swear I saw someone in a 1990s 8 Ball jacket hop over a counter at a kiosk but on second glance there was no one actually there. The kiosk had a hair trigger security alarm, like bumping the counter would rattle the sensor and set it off. No alarm, no one in an 8 Ball jacket, nothing there.

I worked for our local comfort suites hotel. We where doing a remodel on the 3rd floor and the workers were staying in some of those rooms, but that night they had gone gone for the weekend. I usually worked the 2nd shift but my relief called in sick so I got stuck with a double shift. It was about 3am and the elevator dinged and the doors opened. I looked up to see who was coming out, there was no one. I looked up to see what floor it cane from out was 3rd. I decided I better check it out. The 3rd floor was a mess and blocked off but I thought maybe someone went up there for the candy machine as each floor has different stuff. I grabbed my pepper spray just in case az we have had someone sneaking in and tagging the stairwells. The outside doors didn't lock and the owner refused to spend the money to fix them. Chscjed everything out and it was on clear. Everything was quite. I went back to netflix about an hour later the elevator was called to the 3rd floor. We had a balcony son I could see anyone waiting for the elevator I looked up and no one there. Weird maybe some kid hit the button and ran to the stairs. Just then the elevator opened again coming from the 3rd floor. To make this happen you had to be in the elevator to push the button but there was no one. I can hear someone if they go to the right hall way. So I decided to cut them off at the left stairs. No way they could get down the stairs before I got there. No one. I would have heard the big heavy 2nd floor door open. So I went to the 3rd floor again liked through all the rooms thoroughly nothing. I walked the 2nd floor listening to each door for giggles or talking something that would give them away but it was silent like the tomb. Weirded out I just went back to my shows. I heard rumbling on the 3rd floor. I was pissed these kids or whoever had gotten on my nerves. I ran up the stairs no one and nothing. I brought the master key and checked all the locked doors thinking maybe one of the workers had stayed, nope. I was done with the night shift.
The next time I worked I asked the night auditor she said since they started the work up there she heard things and the elevator opened from the 3rd floor every night starting at 3am. The workers also had some crazy stories but I will save those and write them in.

I used to work nights at the industrial plant that I'm still employed at. There were only 3 of us that worked nights. On several occasions, I'd hear my name being called and neither of the other guys would be anywhere close to me. I'd see people walk passed my control room window out on the plant floor, and the other 2 guys would be in the room with me. There's a river that runs just outside the back of the plant where we'd go fishing sometimes on our breaks. One of the other guys said that he carried on a full blown conversation with someone out there one night, only to realize he was completely alone when he turned around. Lot's of weird stuff at that place. 😂

There are creatures that can read minds like telepathy. The closer they are the deeper they can read yoyr mind, They usually get your name and try to lure you away and then you disappear. No Joke

@Troll Hunter, my dad has been the maintenance supervisor here for 50 years. (He started working here 2 weeks before I was born.) To my knowledge, there have only been a total of 4 deaths on the actual plant property. 3 people died from natural causes, i.e. heart attack, just passed from old age, and 1 was killed in an accident. That one was a particularly violent death though. He was a truck driver that was unloading material from his truck and the hydraulic system on a lift on his trailer failed allowing a 1500 lb steel bucket to fall on him. This happened on the night shift and since there's only 3 of us on duty, no one found him, or even knew about the accident until the next morning when day shift arrived. He died instantly so its not like he laid out there suffering or anything but still...
There's always been strange things that go on here though, even before that accident, so I don't know if that death would be a contributing factor to the weirdness or not.

Worked as a security guard at a large tech company back in the 2010s on the third shift from 11 p.m. - 7 a.m. Building was a new modern structure so I never expected any strange experiences of a supernatural nature. One night, on patrol, at 3 a.m. as I was walking down a dimly lit corridor I saw a black shadowy figure out of the corner of my eye. I turned to face it. And there it stood a black translucent figure about six feet tall with a head, torso, and limbs. It seemed to have short dreadlocks. The shadow figure stood there for about two seconds then gradually faded into the background. I jumped three feet backward and let out a yell. The lights went on early night. That was seven years ago, and it still gives me goose bumps to this day to even write about it.

One time working at a movie theater, I was a closer and we got off at 1:30am. I'd have to take out the trash outside, when I did so a car pulled up (it's behind the theater so no one goes back there but security) and just sat there with their head lights on me until I left. Another time I was going through the auditoriums alone, as the manager was counting money, and I swear I saw someone poking their head out from behind one of the seats and sense it was my job to make sure no one is there I had to run up there to kick them out. When I was a cook at Burger King I would close every night at 12AM. There were two strange things that happened. After I finished cleaning the restaurant me and the manager both exited the building through the back. As soon as we walked outside there was this loud screeching noises coming from on top of the building. It sounded like a deranged ape. The second incident was when me and my manager finished closing and we were chillin outside for an hour after closing. There was a Kohl’s parking lot like 30 feet away from us and we heard a woman screaming. It sounded demonic.

I found bathroom taps turned on at two different residences. Could not figure for the life of me what turned those faucets on! Creepy thing is that years before I found a bathroom with lights turned out but the faucet running. I tried to open the door but something was blocking it. Sadly, it was my mother's body blocking the door. Had a devil of a time trying to get through that door to try and save my mother - to no avail. The subsequent times I found the tap running in other bathrooms I felt was my mother saying 'hello', you know, from the other side or what have you. That really happened.
