Bob Barker is really very talented host. Miss Universe in the old days is truly worth watching and remembering. Mrs.Savinee is one of the best Miss Thailand my country has ever had.
Of the first 5, Thailand gave the most engaging interview and should’ve scored higher. Sweden didn’t said much of anything but the judges were so entranced by her looks that they scored her pretty high.

Questions being asked are so casual and personal, allowing us to know the contestants more in a personal level. Emcee is allowing the contestants to be themselves, be relax unlike now... contestants have to endure the drama, bashing and pressure

Ms Germany is a stunner, Ms USA way over confidence, Ms Thailand as charming as can be, Sweden pretty girl next door and Holland the cool girl to be with.
Miss Germany was flawless. A real Barbie doll, and great speaking skills - and in German. Miss USA, how did she even win her national pageant. She cannot even control her tongue. Sweden, an angel but like many Swedens, and nordic contestants, they need a translator. It's ok, we know English is not a native language of their countries.
Brigitte Berx (Miss Germany) is the most beautiful woman of all the other womens. For me is she the true Miss Universe 1984 because Brigitte is divine lovely.
I wonder how the judges evaluated each interview. I guess that having self conffidence was a big issue in the score. And to be honest Germany did have it, but she wasn't scored that high though she answered firmly and nervousless. I think that scored were already biased before the interviews.
Actually I think Miss USA's placement is due to sash factor, she is cute but she is not that wow to be up there. Whatever she said seemed phony and rehearsed sadly. Thailand was so nice, should have been scored higher. Holland was really attractive
I often found interviews of contestants from other countries far more entertaining and spontaneous than interviews from various Miss USAs...they all sound rehearsed and canned to point of being annoying. No wonder in the 1980s so many often win the preliminaries but did not go on to win the crown.
Miss Germany did ok but her big nose was distracting. USA didn't come across natural at all, sounded as if she'd rehearsed her interview repeatedly. Miss Thailand was so charming and deserved a better score than what she got. Sweden was lovely but don't know that I would have given her that high of a score. Holland came across as a little too hard. She needed to loosen up a little.
Didn't care for USA at all, speaking on a soap box and really quite plain looking; Sweden and Thailand oozed charm, they were best; Holland and Germany both seemed too nervous.
When Contestants had dignity, beautiful, modest and most of all simple elegance. I just saw the 2023 Miss Universe, the Hosts looked like B******, the Contestants were heavily enhanced or modified, not to mention vulgar gowns, transgenders, Mothers. Despicable with the current rules. 😢
