Dvorak would appear to have quaffed very deeply from the Well of Inspiration he discovered, circa 1896, in Erben's ballads. My Goodness, there are even moments here which, to my ears anyway, point toward the Hungarian ethnic folk explorations of Kodaly and Bartok. Absolutely stunning example of brilliantly magical orchestration in an exquisite performance. Many thanks for a classy, high quality sequence of works by one of the truly great composers.
