Kavita ji has always been ignored of national awards on 4 occasions... That's the biggest injustice in music industry! Her voice n technicality specially in classical is unparalleled! She is a world gem!
I was wondering the same thing... she is a lagendary n most versatile singer in India. I was shocked why she never won a national award when other ordinary singers won the award at least once. Its such a shame indian government ignored her talent and extraordinary singing. At least one songs from khamoshi, devdas, hum dil de chuke sanam, love 1942, or mr india deserve national award for her. Anybody know why she was ignored. NO WAY there was more talented or beautiful song redention by other singers than how kavita delivered all these song from her heart... just to name one song... title song hum dil de chuke sanam... im so sad

I'm not Indian but I've always been fascinated by the Indian classical music. I remember as kids, we used to wait for Thursday because it was a Hindi movie night. I grew to love it then and I'm still in love with it now. Now, I'm married to an Indian and have been living in India for the past 4 years, I can only say that my heart grows warmer and warmer still. Such music tickles your ears and feeds your soul. Forever a fan ❤

Albela Sajan Aayo Re is a classical Hindi song popularized by Ustad Sultan Khan of Indore gharana in the early 1970s.[1] Ustad Sultan Khan sang it in the Bollywood movie, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam along with Shankar Mahadevan and Kavitha Krishnamurthy.[2] It was also sung by the Mekaal Hasan Band and featured in their 2009 Album, Saptak. It was again recreated for the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film Bajirao Mastani and was sung by various singers.[3] The song is based on Raag Ahir bhairav.
