- So I sincerely hope from the bottom of my heart that Lao Shi doesn't find this video because I could be so embarrassed. I'm already regretting being dumb enough to forget my mic was not muted, but also because out of everything I could've said...I quoted a meme. Welcome to 2020 everybody.
I don't know if the class heard me, didn't notice or just didn't bother to tell me, but I don't want to know. Let me send this off to hundreds of people online and then bury it in the mountain of youtube videos around the world. I will be at peace by then.

OMG I just remembered. We were in online class and my friends mic was unmuted, and we all heard her mom screaming at her for not doing the laundry and giving step by step instructions on how to fold clothes. The teacher was like WHAT?!?!?! and it was recorded lol
I remember I was in math and after saying something I had forgot to mute I sang "My name is princess Celestia,it rhymes with Equestria hmm hmmmm" and my teacher went "Are you ok?"

Now I don’t trust my mic and I have irrational fears of people hearing me talk and say nonsense stuff even if my mic is muted.
I hate being dumb. I actually have less embarassing moments during face-to-face classes than online classes.

To me, I have a hard time in face-to-face class sometimes, only because, during the spring, I get horrible allergies, and start sneezing like crazy. It’s just so awkward to sneeze in class, and everybody says “bless you” but, if you cough like 5 or 6 times in a row, you hear “bless you” like 6 times in a row, and it’s just so embarrassing.
I just remembered something that happened in an online class.
We were in class and there was silence, and suddenly one of the girls started saying things like “oh my god but Jason is so ugly, he looks so bad, I don’t understand how he has a girlfriend” (and more things like that). And Jason was in that class. This girl was talking with other classmate by the phone, and she thought she was muted. It was super awkward and sad to hear her say that. Lmao poor guy, seriously.
So mean. Ahhh poor jason ;(

And nope. I’m still in the same class as them and they’re exactly the same. This year we had a contest between classes and our class lost... So they decided to insult and “bully” the class that won, specially one girl, telling her that they won only because of “favouritism”, to the point that she was crying... But it’s not that bad, most students don’t mind what they say, and all the teachers kinda dislike them. Maybe they’ll grow up sometime, right now they’re like kids.
@@Fatima-cg4ns Go Jason, such a role model :D It's so weird how some people enjoy making others miserable. I wish someone told them that they're being childish and made them carry responsibility for the things they do, not only for other students' sake, but for their own good too. I assume they're teens (?) so people might look that kind of behaviour through their fingers but that kind of attitude won't get them far in the future.
Who knows, maybe they have deeper problems and are projecting them on other people. I used to have a girl in my class who was clearly struggling with a narcissistic personality disorder. She was oblivious how disliked she was and she always wanted to be the center of attention. Mean, two-faced, unemphatetic, loud and self-centered, but I still felt bad for her. I could see how insecure she really was. I didn't want to be mean to her even though I didn't like her as a person, so I distanced myself from her and just hoped she would seek help. I heard she has finally succumbed to the idea that maybe therapy isn't so bad after all. She used to make fun of people who saw a psychologist, although going to therapy was quite normalized in our school (since everyone was either anxious, depressed or had body issues. I went for my OCD and was happy that most of my class didn't think going to therapy was embarrassing). How the tables have turned...
if it makes u feel any better, that has been my biggest fear all year and it came true a few weeks ago. i was in a class and i decided to load it up on my phone so i could work comfortably on the laptop without missing any visuals of the lecture and at some point i began excitedly telling my mother a story about something funny that had just happened in the class. i got maybe a handful of words in when i heard "oop, i think someone has their mic on." i looked down at my phone and nearly passed out. mind you, this is a class of 200+ people and i have the voice of a small child. ten million in psych damage. instakill. you died. i haven't tried engaging in class group chats since.

I usually normally talk while muted but recently I noticed that even though the mute sign shows on my screen, I'm unmuted on my teacher's shared screen. That scared me a little so I proceeded to shout and clap to see if the sound sign near my picture would move or if somebody'd tell me to shut up. Nothing happened so I just continue to behave as loud as I want :)
Gosh I did that too I remember when I was in online class the teacher didn't like the fact that no one wants to show their screen so she demanded us to do it
I kept declining because I thought it was a mistake and I got angry the Mike was unmuted and I shouted:- "DAMN JUST STOP IT WILL YA?!?"
And then I realized my mistake and pretend to not hear it and pretended to disconnec...

You think that’s bad!? I did a FULL blown KARAOKE while on a conference unmuted!!! It was so embarrassing, I now always check my mute button every single freaking second.
It took me months to trust my computer enough to make a sound while being muted. It was background music when they told us to do exercises on our own lol. since no one mentioned anything, I grew a bit overconfident since then, and now I sometimes go as far as to play videos while in class. Paranoia never leaves me whenever I do ;;;;

My brother told me a funny story about online class: The teacher put us in separate groups of like 5-6 kids, but she put us in this thing where it was like a mini class but with just kids. I glanced over at his screen to see one of the kids project a live thing of him playing Among Us. LOL
When I do homework or just schoolwork in general I sing to myself or listen to music to help me focus. I WAS IN MATH AND THE MUTE BUTTON BETRAYED ME. My teacher asked if her sons were in the background or if the green screen had blocked them out. I (being a nice student and talking to my teachers) told her we couldn't see them. I SWEAR I PRESSED MUTE. I started singing little miss perfect (i was learning it in singing lessons) and I just cannot, my teacher was like "who's singing" followed by me going "CRAP" and one of my classmates saying (nicely) "nice singing Erika!" she was being nice but it was a horrible experience.
this reminds me of that time I was in 1st grade and with my Spanish teacher she always gave us a 15 minute break but one day she didn’t and I thought I was muted and said “OMG! WHY DIDNT SHE GIVE US A BREAK? THATS SO UNFAIR!” and then I realized when she said “who said that?” and I left for one and a half minute and joined back almost fainting of embarrassment
I am a paranoid person and whenever I have online classes, I mute the mic two times to make sure if it really was muted especially glitches.
Once, in online class, someone said Peach out loud, thinking their mic was muted. Now we great each other by saying 'peach'.

I am so glad i'm not doing online class anymore. one time me and my brother were in the same room during an online class and the teacher asked me a question. my brother was doing something that made me tell him to shut up. i thought i was on mute. i wasn't. i know that sounds not that embarrassing but its a lot when your a really socially awkward person

I remember in my Filipino class, I was singing Dynamite by BTS and my mic was UNMUTED! So when my teacher told we that I had a nice voice I muted and literally cringed till I almost cried.😂
Once I sang unmuted and I forget what song it was but it was so loud and then my library teacher sang this isn’t music class and I cringe so much thinking about it, I probably sound like a rat
I have this friend that during virtual school would accidentally forget to mute his mic and would start singing songs in Japanese and Korean. I must say his singing was amazing and I'm sure everyone would agree with me on this, but he was always so embarrassed afterward.

The foreshadowing to the anime betrayals of the mute button is every time before you join the meeting the application will always randomly turn either the camera or the mic on/off. I always am tense and anxious when I see that foreshadowing.
This has happened to me. 5 times this week. One time I started singing in front of my entire geography class. Im not okay.
I was in math class about a year and a half ago and in the meet I had answered a math problem and forgot to mute my mic and then later I started humming a random tune that almost everyone knows how to play on the piano and then my teacher said to me in the call "*Insert name here* you have your mic on. Class this is her thinking song." I was so embarrassed and what made it even worse was afterwards I had unmuted myself for some reason and my brother came in and started arguing with me but my teacher had left her classroom to deal with something and no one had said nothing the entire time T-T. I noticed that my mic hadn't had a red light on and then I saw that in the meet the mic also wasn't muted there either. Stupid Meets!!! XD

During online classes I was listening to some music while the teacher was taking attendance and didn't realize my mice was on. And like halfway through I started humming to the music (can't remember the song), and then I started singing... I SANG FOR LIKE 20 SECONDS BEFORE THE TEACHER TOLD ME: "That's some nice singing but we are taking attencdance so could you turn your mice off".
Nobody has said anything about it since but I was cringeing myself to death for like an hour after that.

I go to online class but my school don’t do video calling my school just put a video and have us watch a video and have us do homework at the end but you don’t have to submit them? It weird. The “video” call we have science group thing. 1 time I didn’t mute and I sing “never gonna give you up” in whisper and snore very close to the phone (In my country rickrolled is not popular so no one know what I singing. In my country English not the main language so you can see grammar if I mess up)

I remember one time I watch watching a video with Raggedy Andy (a cartoon character I like) and there was a line that goes like "This is no place for a strong, tough and terrific boy, like myself". So because I'm a fan of that movie and I know all the lines I said the same thing out loud like an idiot... It wasn't that loud but my teacher heard it and he was like: "Please everyone check if you have your mics closed" so I knew it was me since no one else had it on.... :'))

The struggle is real-
I remember one time during class I decided to start singing just because I can, not knowing that my mic was on....My teacher chuckled and said "okaayyyyy" and at the top of my screen it said, "You have been muted by the instructer." I sat there for ever after class cringing in silence. Luckily it was just one day before school ended and summer break started but I will never forget that utter embarrassment.....

One time a class mate was in charge of host, and they were a horrible choice. They went around unmuting people to hear what they would say off mute, and me being the quiet kid in class, of course they had to unmute me. I'd say they must've been very disappointed when they heard nothing but backround noise.

edit: somehow this was seen so I am going to elaborate, I was in my zoom class and had Saria's Song stuck in my head from Legend of Zelda. I was deciding to hum it but I ended up singing what I was thinking to the tune... I think you see how this is going right? Well anyways my teacher was repeating the same lesson OVER and OVER (5+ times at this point) in the same class so when I was asked a question I answered correctly and forgot to mute and sang "Yes I know yes I know YES I KNOW YOU HAVE REPEATEDDDD OVER AND OVERRRRR" cause I was also annoyed previously at something else I forgot what I just know I was annoyed. Also yes I remember even though this comment was made a year after it happened and I am making this edit 8 months later
edit 2 from same hour as edit 1: 1:11 is exactly true muting and that never works and during games even that have PUSH TO TALK I am worried about this so I press the keybind but on accident the keybind to sleep mode my computer is right next to it

Quick story,
My brother had online classes as well as me. We have different times for classes. I was in the same room as him playing around- and surprisingly..my brother hopped on with me. He was looking at the camera, and soon he heard his name. Yes, they saw the screen over his glasses. I'm almost positive that his heart instantly dropped in that moment.
Welp- at least that's better than the times my camera would randomly turn on and It'd show me playing mindless games on my other laptop. although I think my teachers understood since I had told them I have trouble focusing when I don't do things with my hands.

I can relate to this. I was in tuition (online class), my bestie sent a meme - cHiCkeN WinG chICkeN WiNg and i recited it out loud, my mic was unmuted and the whole class burst out laughing (they were muted, so i couldn't hear em, but the chat was flooded with laughing emojis). The teacher gave me a lecture and I mentally prepared myself to get whooped my mums 👡. :-(

This has (sadly) come true in one of my online classes last year. It wasn't as bad but it was pretty humiliating, so I'll still share. So my brother, who was also in class, had just finished saying something but forgot to mute his mic. I, being oh-so kind and generous, decided to save him the humiliation by wispering for him to mute his mic. But apperently my mic wasn't muted so everyone just heard this kid who sounds like she's 6 years old whisper, "DUUUUUDE, mute your mic." Then the teacher told ME to mute and my brother then quickly muted his mic as well.

There has been quite some hilarious moments in my class. One of my friends were watching cricket and he wasn't muted. It was our English class and my teacher was like, "Are you watching the cricket right now?" The dude answered that it was his dad and in our friends grp chat (which is our whole dang class) was like "phew! Almost got caught". Ngl, nice save.
And there was this moment where one of my classmate was listening to music. And after answering, he didn't mute his mic and so when he blasted the music the teacher asked him (English again) what he was doing. He said that it was his ringtone and that his dad had called him. The teacher didn't care and just went on with class, knowing it was a lie. All our friends ended up roasting him.

This is reminds me of when I was in English and I was taking down notes when one of my closest cousins came in through my window wearing some rag sunglasses and she was like "Miss me?" And I jumped up from my desk and ran to her saying something not appropriate for school and yes, I wasn't muted, so the entire class heard me, my best friend later on told me that the teacher was gonna contact my mom

That has to be the worst 'forgot to mute' story I think I came across
Luckily I always muted myself but once I forgot to leave discord voice chat and in a middle of boring lesson I decided it's the best moment to do a quick singing practice. I was a begginer back then and my voice was pretty bad and one person got on vc to hear me "singing". I was so lucky that it happened that way and not the way around because if I started singing in a middle of a class that would be problematic
