Hi Steve, thank you for this share. I’m doing pieces with LED’s for the first time tomorrow and you’ve convinced me to give this a go 😊 Now I’m off to binge watch your other video’s!
Thank you!! I'll be putting LEDs into a cube mold to make the Tesseract from the Marvel movies for my upcoming Loki cosplay, and was wondering how to do it!
Ya know when I move into my new home, my room mate is going to swear I've hidden you somewhere bc I'm going to start using all of your ideas. I'm relocating to the mountains before Spring. I can just hear him now.
Cool ideas . . . is the resin strong enough to support a bracket? I'm trying to creatively add LEDs to a pergola and if i could somehow attach an L bracket to the resin mold, I could directly attach the LED/resin combo to the pergola. . .
I love this idea. I have a possible tip to help you with lining up the LEDs ... what about placing a paper clip between each mold and hooking the wire under the paperclip? Just a suggestion.
Hi Steve! Love your videos! You explain things very clearly. I havea question. I'm a newbie to resin and right now I am using JDiction Epoxy Resin for all my molds. I've heard you mention different types of Resin for different molds. Could you explain the difference and uses for them? Do I need to use different resin for different molds? thank you!
I have a 16 inch led strips that I want to embed in clear resin creating a long rectangular cube. Will the led lights create a lot of heat within the resin and can this create a problems within the cube long term? What is the best “clear” resin for my application?
Is there a link you could share to which lights you purchased on Amazon? We're looking at a similar project but only need one or two lights. We're having the worst time finding something that will work well that isn't 16' long! Thanks!
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts I will do mate i will also add some glow in the dark pigment and then will continue to glow after the lights go out thinking a project for sons new room.
What happens when the lights burn out? I was thinking about using some small clear tubing to push the lights through so they can be replaced. I do a lot of memorial pieces..would want them stuck with burned out or broken lights down the road. What do you think?
I personally haven't had led diode lights burn out yet, but I wouldn't recommend using a tube with lights. Not only will it be dimmer, just from not being as efficiently reflected and refracted from the resin (because of the air bubble within the tube) but I think it sounds impossible to remove and replace the lights inside. If the tube is bent at all, I just don't think it's practical. If you're that worried, make your piece along with a stand for it to set on top and have the light in the stand shining up through the project.
😀💜 Have you thought of trying to secure the lights in place with a bit of if resin, then topping off the mold? Or even suspending them from a dowel or something beforehand and then submerging them all simultaneously? Hmmmm.....ideas.....
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts Oh you're very welcome I adore your art very much and so glad we have become friends, I am redoing the angel head I was just unhappy with it and doing the hair has been the challenge but I think I found a way to achieve the look. I may do a poll to see how each one fares . I also did the skirt over as well and Im pleased with it now I need to get some E6000 later this week to attach to the board.
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts Its not that it has to be perfection but the revisions look promising I bought some wool and that is what I used on angel head in photo I posted I need to watch his tutorial. Can't wait to see the coffee table I bet its gorgeous.
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts That is true and hopefully I have worked out the kinks lol....I will be happy to see the table it may give me inspiration for another board I want to try.

Have you ever thought of using the "black" lights/purple with the glow in the dark powder? Would that work?

What an amazing idea!!! How did it turn out?!
@@Lana.Lulu. yea so... haven't done it yet😅 will tell you how it goes when I finally do! Ordering the stuff soon
@@PureChaosCosplays It's going to be epic!! Tag me when you do it!!!
I used bent paper clips to 'pin' the wire between each mold piece when I did something similar! Made it sooo much easier
Does this work the same for the wireless ones? Like the micro electromagnetic ones?
Hi sir, I just discovered resin art and I want to thank you for this one on the lights.
WOW!!! I had no idea that you could put lights in the resin. You just Keep showing better and better things to to, thank you😁
Very informative as usual, instead of battery LEDs can you use ones that run on electricity? Warmest wishes to you Steve.
I really enjoy your videos. These videos are really the best on TH-cam.
Love these thanks.making all my Christmas lights now.... thank you.for all you teach x
Love this, will give it a go, just need the lights x

Hi Steve, where do I find the link to the lights please. I'm looking at Amazon but don't have a clue what I should buy.
Where is the link to the lights
Awesome! Thank you! 🙌🤗
You could make The Tesseract from The Avengers with this if you make it blue 😊
Nice job. how long the battery last? Do you use Ip67 / 68 rating fairy lights?
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts ok, because normally to be immersed they need to be at least IP 67 rating. No heating problem?
