Krakow is a beautiful city! I also love this kind of vibe as well. The tram system looks totally identical to what they have in Amsterdam. So fun to explore cities like this! Very cool
Poland went through so many years of oppression and with freedom over the last couple decades has flourished....Thanks for the glimpse that has me thinking about including Poland in my travels....
You're welcome. We highly recommend a trip here - theres areas you can still visit to see/learn more about the difficult past, but the areas that have been developed really are incredible with a great feeling.
Well that just made us miss Krakow so much. Poland is a pure gem. What a great place! You guys should checkout the Krakow Pinball Museum for something totally different. We had a blast there. - Trevor
Oh, once your visa expires - go to the Balkans. My husband did it several times (US citizen), and he loved it. Still super cheap, pretty good public transportation and amazing views!
It's wonderful that you two are spending so much time in the medieval city of Krakow! I actually live in Krakow as a full-time student attending Jagiellonian University - the most prestigious university in Poland (established 1364 by King Casimir III the Great). Its oldest buildings near the main square are definitely worth a visit and perfect for photography. Additionally, there is a place called Tytano: Kraków's Urban Lifestyle Complex - an old cigarette factory converted into multiple outdoor and indoor restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. Some areas of the complex even have outdoor modern-art exhibits produced by locals. If you need any recommendations, just let me know! Enjoy your stay. :)
Hey Nathan - we love Krakow, such a great spot! Funny you should mention Tytano - we literally just spent the afternoon there filming, eating and drinking!
Another beautiful vlog! Even though I'm all Team Warsaw (there is a competition between the old and the new capital), I like to come to Kraków once in a while, it has its own unique, a bit detached, otherwordly atmosphere, especially in the autumn... I remember visiting friends back in 2014 and we ended up on a roof of an abandoned house just a block away from St Mary's! The views were unforgetable. Then we rode the urban bikes on the banks of Vistula in the middle of the night... Kraków also preserves a bit of Bohemian / fin de siecle lifestyle from the late 19th / early 20th century - some nice Art Nouveau works of art like the stained glass windows in Church of St Francis at Plac Wszystkich Świętych (with Stanisław Wyspiański pavilion just right by its side, with more stained glass works by this great artist, feel free to look him up), you can find this atmosphere in places like Jama Michalika on Floriańska Street, Absynt Cafe on Miodowa 28 or Bunkier Cafe by the Planty park, near Szczepański Square. I also recommend to see some Polish films taking place partially in Kraków, like A Double Life of Veronique by Krzysztof Kieślowski or The Wedding by Andrzej Wajda (a fin de siecle, full of alegories wedding night of a Krakowian higher class artist and a lower class countryside girl). Can't wait for the vlogs to come!
Haha well we will have to see if Team Warsaw is all its cracked up to be! (sure we'll love it). Those are some great suggestions, thanks so much, added to our list to dig into further.
If you're still in Krakow, don't miss the barbican on the north end of that park, which is encircling the city center - it's the only remaining section of the city walls which are now replaced with the park, encircling the city center all the way from and to the castle in the south. PS: I gotta: "Sun's about to sit." Which is only fair as being the Sun is really exhausting and one has to take a break from all that standing. :-D
Hello Daneger & Stacey, and thank you, for this lovely video. Yes, this is truth, Krakow and Poland is so beautiful. And I have to tell you, that You are nice couple too. Thanks
There are many beautiful nature sights in Poland. That is how locals spend holidays. Big cities are more for school trips, students and foreign tourists. Polish people often chill by the lake, sea or in the mountains.
I am very happy that you liked my country, I am glad that an intelligent couple decided to come to Poland and see how it is really here. Thank you very much for wonderful video about my country and I wish you all the best my friends.
Much thanks for this nice another cultural tour, rich blend of old and new. Would have loved to see the birthplaces of St.John Paul 2 and St. Faustina.
Uber are not allowed to enter the old town, the regular taxis are cheap, mega taxis or i cars. The trams are best though once you get the hang of it. Get a 24 hour ticket for 15zl, ride as much as you like.
Blown away by how cool Poland is! It's looking more and more that East Europe is where its all at now. Have your subs gone up rapidly in recent days? Just noticed you have cracked the 30k mark which is fantastic!
Definitely think it's worth looking further away, Rex. (though Czech and Poland locals are proud they are Central, not Eastern!) Seems like our Germany, Czech and now Poland videos have helped us reach a new market, subs are going up nicely, we're stoked.
Are you staying just in Kraków? You like more local, slow pace places so why don`t you visit country side? I`ve noticed on many travel vlogs whenever they visit Poland it`s always biggest cities. I get it it`s easier for english speakers cause you can communicate without a problem. Poland has so much to offer outside of Kraków.
You're right, bigger cities are more accessable and also have easier Airbnb, wifi and public transport etc to meet our needs. We're also aiming to visit Warsaw and Gdansk and hopefully a few more though.
Daneger and Stacey Maybe try Malbork castle on your way to Gdansk. It shouldn't be crowded yet. You could do one day trip and go back to the city. Just a suggestion if you have spare time in your schedule.
I agree, especially if you are planning to take a train to Gdansk - just take of from Warsaw early in the morning and visit Malbork on the way to Gdansk :) It's trully stunning :)
Another fine video featuring Kraków :) The streets in the Old Town were regular asphalted streets until mid-1990s. Therefore the cobblestones are relatively new (twentysomething years). Keep them videos coming!
Krakow is awesome mate, you'll love it. We spent a month there so have plenty more vids if you want to see: th-cam.com/users/playlist?index=1&playnext=1&list=PLUDuSYCnVh-T3bNYsrGPL9LpC80_k9ZQy
Stag weekends have ruined Prague and Krakow. I remember when these towns had such few tourists and no lager louts. They should just have all stag weekends at Wembley with Chilean police.
Hi guys, ive been to krakow twice in last few years on stags holidays but took time to visit aushwitz . Although its upsetting its a must see for historical reasons. and i believe free to enter the museum although i paid for the tour which with a guide is imperative. Enjoy x
Blessed to see you were there! I'm from Tarnów, a town located about 45mins away from Kraków :D Tarnów also has a lovely Main Square, called 'The Pearl of Polish Renessaince' but, of course, it's much smaller than Kraków's Main Square. Bochnia Salt Mine is also worth to visit! Besides that, in Poland there's a lot of magnific towns :D Have a lovely day to you all! :D
3;80 is one way or 40min with transition ticket (you can change as many trams and buses during those 40min since validating). For 3 stops you really overpaid, as there is a 20min ticket for 2;80 that will allow you to make a trip from Plac bohaterów Getta (square of the ghetto heroes) to Dietla, where you took of. (You walked one tram stop actually to enjoy the view i guess, as lines 24 or 13 would drive you directly to Poczta Główna tram stop). About buying tickets inside the tram, you have to have coins on you to use automate with tickets, or you can scan qr code with your chosen ticket if you got app on your smartphone. This park around old town is called Planty. In late XVIII century (or was it early XIX?) local nobility (and citizens) issued a work of dismantling old city fortifications, leaving only small portion of it. The whole moat that was surrounding old walls was burred and turned into city park, so you were basically standing in the middle of old moat (or on a bridge that crossed it). 1;50 is a reasonable price for that Krakowian pretzel. The booths 3:03 were on Small market (Mały rynek), that is right next to Main square. You have happened upon one of the festivals/fairs that take place there. I think you have been during Hungarian days, from the looks of it. Those building are actually smaller then they used to be. The current street level is... higher then it use to be, so basically what you see as ground floor now would be first floor above ground in middle ages. Basylica Mariacka (St's Mary Basilica) do not stand on Main square but on Plac Mariacki (Mariacki plaza). This old clock (at 6:45) on Main square is actually a Town hall tower, were city council were residing in earlier ages. It is a museum now. At 7:23 you are walking on Mariacki plaza, with Basilica on the left. In front of you is St's Barbaba church, belonging to Jesuits order. In Sukiennice (Cloth house), this huge building in the middle on the Main square, on the side with Adam Mickiewicz statue, is an entrance to Rynek Underground museum. It was opened after archaeological excavation on (or in) Main Square. So I'm sorry, but you have missed quite a bit of an exhibition, that shows how Kraków has risen it's street level thru the ages. www.mhk.pl/exhibitions/6 Best wishes from Cracow. And thank You for visiting.
When you eventually head north, make sure you visit the largest castle in the world (by land area) in Malbork, Gdańsk - except from all the touristy things, check out the shipyard, this is where the locals hang out (100cznia and Ulica Elektrykow for alternative music, amazing beer and street food), as well as Garnizon in Wrzeszcz. Nearby town - Sopot (30 mins from Gdansk) cannot be missed - it is a beautiful spa town with a very chilled vibe and the longest wooden pier in Europe. I would recommend staying over in Wrzeszcz. Looking forward to your videos :) I personally do not like being in Gdansk during St Dominics Fair, which attracts (literally) millions of people each year - the city becomes so crowded, most of the places are full and I already got a vibe you like it slow paced. However, Gdansk is always the busiest during the summer time.
Hi! You missed the oldest and the most beautiful street in Kraków. The Kanonicza Street. Beautiful, more peaceful, with many attractions. Next time remember about it. It is absolutely "must see"! Greetings :)
I’m an Aussie from krakow the main market square(Rynek Glówny) is one of The largest in Europe. At 3:00 is small market square (Rynek mały) . Visit Nowa Huta(new steelworks) which was a industrial suburb on the fringe of krakow, built & designed by the Communists with a central square ( albeit small) . Poland is has one cheap clothing as well. Visit a Reserved or Cropp clothing store ( Poland’s answer to H&M) great quality clothing as well.
I don't know if you did, but you should try cake called "sękacz". It has taste sth between biscuits and flapjacks, and it's addictive! :) And remember - Poland is not all about Krakow! Try for example Bielsko-Biała - known as "little Wienna" and has the best salsa festival in Poland. Oh! You should come in july to Lublin (east-south Poland town) to Carnaval Sztukmistrzów.
Welcome to my city :-) If you liked the Market Square, check the underground museum. You were litterally walking on top of it, so you might as well have a look what it looks like :P. Other than that I recommend checking out the Salt Mine in the nearby Wieliczka. And if you are into art you might want to check some of art galleries, for instance say hello to Leonardo's "Lady with an Ermine"
you could buy ticket for 2,8 pln :) its valid for 20 minutes, but if you are new in the city its hard to asses how long the journey will take :) by the way what camera are you using? your videos have really nice colors :) greetings from Krakow
In many lists is Parade Square in Warsaw on 1st place as the largest one and other sources mention different squares on top as the largest in europe. There is a big problem with definition what is a square...
Methedrine Lovegod thats not true. There is a lot of bigger medieval squares in europe for example this square has 3.79 ha an Charles square in Prague has size 7 ha so 2 times larger so its just myth.
Haha thats brilliant! As far as we know (some what uneducated) its one of the more stock standard Polish beers. The craft stuff here is amazing, but Tyskie is cheap (from supermarkets) and crisp. We like it.
Unfortunately it is not so good as 10 years ago. Maybe the sort that goes for export is, but today a brother brand Lech, that belongs to same concern, and is made were Tyskie was used to be made, taste most likely like Tyskie should be tasting. But that is what older generation will tell you, as younger ones have no idea what they have lost.
Might be if you were in the old town unregistered taxis can't enter. So uber or taxify will cancel, mytaxi is a good alternative for getting picked up from old town!
In this area where you live is nice restaurant and as a chef I'm always going there if I'm in Poland is call "zazzie bistro" :)) enjoy and is really chill to watch u guys :)
czasem oglądam te filmy o Krakowie. Jeszcze w żadnym nie zauważyłem żeby odwiedzali muzeum POD Sukiennicami (podziemia/underground) a warto. Zgaduję że powodem jest słaba reklama ;)
Definitely worth the visit. Most of the stuff we've shown in our first 2 (and soon to be 3rd) vlogs are all within 10-15 minutes walking distance of each other, you can see and do loads.
Went to Krakow from London last month. Very safe place no police or to be scared of any terrorism. Pure Europe high 🏨 standard good prices and quality of a food happy kids they have seen live nativity scene with all animals. I was surprised that everything looks new .I don't know how
TRy to check out Łódź one day, places like tiny Surindustriale, or the old fabrics, cool places. The city has changed a lot in past years, now it starts to grow as a design and art center as well as global IT Support land :) There are lots of new buildings, so modern style meets the 19th century. Maybe light move festival this autumn? Google it and you will love it ;) Also one I just discovered this year, Ojców, Pieskowa Skała and this area, it's close to Kraków, a great place for some outdoor activities, amazing The palace in Pieskowa Skała was renewed few years back and it is amazing. Well, there are many more to go actually ;)
It is the largest medieval square in Europe. The largest square is located in Warsaw. This is Plac Defilad. There, in the middle, stands the Palace of Culture and Science. The destroyed city center was not rebuilt. XD
@@DanegerAndStacey I am planning on traveling like you guys but when I retire in 10 years. Already planning on staying in places you have stayed before. I'm hoping you guys go back to being traveling nomads so I can follow along and get ideas from you! Safe travels my friends!
2.8 for 20 minutes trip (with the possibility of changing the vehicle). You can also use various applications such as SkyCash to buy a ticket on a smartphone - it works in most PL cities.
Hi Hello after two year's Dan and Stacey ! I Just notice some curiosity. Behind your back in 7:53 is popular pub for gamer's called "Cyber Machina" Take care guys.
Yes it is probably the most horrible place on the planet that ever existed.but it's good to think about and learn from. When I went into the gas chamber I walked right out of there right away.Just needed fresh air suddenly. no place for kids. The city itself is very beautiful, and the people really nice and friendly.
If you want to visit some cool Polish cities and places let me recommend you: 1. Sandomierz 2. Zakopane - not the town itself but mountains around it (you have to taste "oscypek" :-D) 3. Poznań 4. Gdańsk 5. Wrocław 6. Lwów (Polish city in Ukraine) And of course so much more Best Polish meals that I recommend: 1. Pierogi (especially "ruskie") 2. Gołąbki - Polish sushi 3. Żurek 4. Knedle with plum 5. Placki ziemniaczane (potato crumpet?) 6. Many pastries - especially with fruits. I hope you'll come back (If u left by now) :-D
You're right to stray off the beaten path - as you did in Prague. You don't have to go far either. So glad you've gone to Poland. There's nowhere in Poland you won't like.
Ohhh, well it would be cool to have a video like in a seasonal event (like Christmas) going back to your country then just having a happy time with your families, that's just my opinion though. 😊

Try for example Bielsko-Biała - known as "little Wienna" and has the best salsa festival in Poland. Oh! You should come in july to Lublin (east-south Poland town) to Carnaval Sztukmistrzów.
You did a really great job of filming this.... thank you :)
Thank you
Krakow - my home
Welcome to my city :-) If you liked the Market Square, check the underground museum. You were litterally walking on top of it, so you might as well have a look what it looks like :P. Other than that I recommend checking out the Salt Mine in the nearby Wieliczka. And if you are into art you might want to check some of art galleries, for instance say hello to Leonardo's "Lady with an Ermine"
I'm from Kraków :) Greetings from this beautiful city :) Ps. great vlog
The best city in Europe
Heeeeeey!!
Hello, thank you for showing my city rest of the world :)
Dagne Sheiadhl u live in one great city!!
Cool video! I'm from Cracow and I love this city (city center) looks beautiful on your vlog and also in real :p :)
Thanks so much!
Nowa Huta, Plac Centralny is also interesting in Krakow, but maybe to local.
It's on our list to visit!
When you visit Wawel, make sure to check out the fire breathing dragon (smok) down by the river.
Found it yesterday afternoon after walking through the dungeon!
So nice! Going to Krakow tomorrow so this is some good inspiration for me. Are you planning to visit Auschwitz and the saltmines?
Have fun today! Yeah we're definitely planning to do both :)
There is a museum under the main square. Under the ground.
Was there is Sept 2018. Loved every bit of it.
You missed the fact the brother’s knife is hanging from the Cloth hall!
The knife from the legend is still in the are of the square but it's another legend :). Greetings from Poland.
The story about those two brothers is both interesting and sad that it had to get to that. People watching can be fun too;)
Collegium Maius - find this place (near the Square Market) - a theatrical atmosphere
, Shakespearian
;)
Beautiful city! Respect from Romania.
Agreed! We're in Romania right now :)
Mate you should definitely do Kuchnia U Babci Maliny for traditional polish fare
Poland is so beautiful coutry
That’s so expensive! Beer in Poland in non touristy areas is like 2zl, love Krakow though
Yeah its pretty crazy! We love just grabbing a cheeky beer from Zabka for a fraction of the price
Zabka is not a good store to buy. I would say stores outside of old city.
Weeeeeeee! Waking up to my other favorite TH-camrs!!! Good morningggggg!!! Good afternoooooon!!!! Good eveninggggggg!!!!
Weeeeeeee! Happy to hear that! Enjoy ❤️
you could buy ticket for 2,8 pln :) its valid for 20 minutes, but if you are new in the city its hard to asses how long the journey will take :) by the way what camera are you using? your videos have really nice colors :) greetings from Krakow
In many lists is Parade Square in Warsaw on 1st place as the largest one and other sources mention different squares on top as the largest in europe. There is a big problem with definition what is a square...
Erwin Rommel it's the biggest medieval square
Methedrine Lovegod thats not true. There is a lot of bigger medieval squares in europe for example this square has 3.79 ha an Charles square in Prague has size 7 ha so 2 times larger so its just myth.
It's not a myth lol
Erwin Rommel Trust people who are specialists. It was UNESCO.
Stay with us ! ❤ love your videos guys!
Just checked Tyskie is at local Dan Murphy's i'm gonna grab some to try for weekend hope you get paid for advetisment haha 😂
So uber or taxify will cancel, mytaxi is a good alternative for getting picked up from old town!
yeah we heard about this afterwards, that explains it!
Next time go to Wielczka Salt Mine:)
We will be - video coming in a few weeks no doubt :)
Ohhhhh noooo, just found ur channel now....shame we didn`t hook up when you were here....Maybe next time though?
In this area where you live is nice restaurant and as a chef I'm always going there if I'm in Poland is call "zazzie bistro" :)) enjoy and is really chill to watch u guys :)
Thanks - we'll check it out!
czasem oglądam te filmy o Krakowie. Jeszcze w żadnym nie zauważyłem żeby
odwiedzali muzeum POD Sukiennicami (podziemia/underground) a warto. Zgaduję że powodem jest
słaba reklama ;)
Warto, warto :) tak w ogóle czekam na vlog o krakowskich klubach :P przecież rynek nie zasypia ;)
7:43 That car on blue licence plates was a diplomatic car. 001 at the beginning of the number means it is issued for USA.
On this street (Stolarska) you have several embassies, eg American or French.
When it comes to that legend about the two brothers, the knife with which one killed another is hanging under the entrance to the Sukiennice building
Oh my town, my home
avarage lager beer cost in Poland is around 3 zlotys. In restaurants 7/8. You payed 12. This restaurant is not fair. But probably still cheap for you
We love how cheap you can grab a beer at Zabra etc, 2.50 for 500ml is SO CHEAP. But yeah. tourist area always silly pricing.
Guys do you think it is good to visit Krakow only for a weekend? And what it your recommendation?
Definitely worth the visit. Most of the stuff we've shown in our first 2 (and soon to be 3rd) vlogs are all within 10-15 minutes walking distance of each other, you can see and do loads.
Maybe vlog from cracow clubs? Cracow is famous for clubs and parties :D Neversleeping city :D
We;ve heard theyre pretty wild!
Hahah that's right. In the night it's even more crowded than during the day.
Dan, i like your sunglasses - what brand is it? Btw, great vlog, guys. :) I’m polish, i really appreciate it. Thanks!
Hey ilona rozmus - thanks! You can check our equipment and full travel gear on our site- danegerandstacey.com/our-equipment/
Google it and you will love it ;)
Also one I just discovered this year, Ojców, Pieskowa Skała and this area, it's close to Kraków, a great place for some outdoor activities, amazing The palace in Pieskowa Skała was renewed few years back and it is amazing. Well, there are many more to go actually ;)
It is the largest medieval square in Europe. The largest square is located in Warsaw. This is Plac Defilad. There, in the middle, stands the Palace of Culture and Science. The destroyed city center was not rebuilt. XD
Next Time install app „Jakdojade”, choose the city and you have clear situation how to travel by tram or bus :)
That's what we use now, we recommended it already in this vlog or the one prior :)
100k views? Crazy! I can't belive its been 3 years since you were in my favorite city!
Amazing city, we will be back
@@DanegerAndStacey I am planning on traveling like you guys but when I retire in 10 years. Already planning on staying in places you have stayed before. I'm hoping you guys go back to being traveling nomads so I can follow along and get ideas from you! Safe travels my friends!
Welcome to my city:) Guys, next time you can buy 2,60 zl ticket (for 20 mins). Definitely enough for more than 3 stops
Amazing - thanks for the tip, thats what we needed.
2.8 for 20 minutes trip (with the possibility of changing the vehicle).
You can also use various applications such as SkyCash to buy a ticket on a smartphone - it works in most PL cities.
I love your vlogs! I wanna go there as well
Thats so cool, thank you! Hope we can share enough with you so you feel like youre part of it anyway
Where did you guys stay? Could you share/recommend the website that you used to rent? :)
We stayed here, booked on Airbnb: th-cam.com/video/Qf1qxRUmM7Q/w-d-xo.html
Welcome to Poland guys 👍😉
You guys are Amazing... 😘
Haha so are you :)
Hi Hello after two year's Dan and Stacey ! I Just notice some curiosity. Behind your back in 7:53 is popular pub for gamer's called "Cyber Machina" Take care guys.
Interesting - we didn't even notice it!
Welcome to Poland....Good Job.
Thanks Adrian! Lots more Poland vlogs to come :)
If you plan to stay in Poland for longer, you just have to visit Auschwitz. It's a very moving experience.
Yes it is probably the most horrible place on the planet that ever existed.but it's good to think about and learn from. When I went into the gas chamber I walked right out of there right away.Just needed fresh air suddenly. no place for kids. The city itself is very beautiful, and the people really nice and friendly.
If you want to visit some cool Polish cities and places let me recommend you:
1. Sandomierz
2. Zakopane - not the town itself but mountains around it (you have to taste "oscypek" :-D)
3. Poznań
4. Gdańsk
5. Wrocław
6. Lwów (Polish city in Ukraine)
And of course so much more
Best Polish meals that I recommend:
1. Pierogi (especially "ruskie")
2. Gołąbki - Polish sushi
3. Żurek
4. Knedle with plum
5. Placki ziemniaczane (potato crumpet?)
6. Many pastries - especially with fruits.
I hope you'll come back (If u left by now) :-D
You're right to stray off the beaten path - as you did in Prague. You don't have to go far either. So glad you've gone to Poland. There's nowhere in Poland you won't like.
We're loving it so far!!
U go Poland , greetings from Florida
Hey! Thanks for watching
Nice video ! 😄
Btw I have a question:
Do you guys get like homesickness when both of you travel around the world? (I'm just curious)
Good question - home sick? No. Missing family and friends, definitely. Over time thought you just get used to it, doesn't really bother us anymore.
Ohhh, well it would be cool to have a video like in a seasonal event (like Christmas) going back to your country then just having a happy time with your families, that's just my opinion though. 😊
Thats our plan this year - we were away for xmas last year so heading back to NZ this time :)
Oh nice :)
Is it me alone or Poland kinda looks like Amsterdam.
Only that it doesn't have the waterways
3:32 absolutely amazing...
He was great! Such an awesome little setup there
Go to Wieliczka Salt Mine
Any thoughts of going to the town of Medjugorje, Bosnia and Herzegovina and experience the Medjugorje apparitions?
Any thoughts prior to your comment... no. *furiously googlin now*
Daneger and Stacey , so have you found out what the Medjugorge apparitions is all about? ☺️
Are you guys Australian? I really liked the video
Hey Charlie - we're actually from New Zealand!
