- In an interview with NBC News, former President Donald Trump defended his appearance at Arlington National Cemetery earlier this week. Trump said he was not thinking about his campaign when he posed for photographs with family members among the Arlington headstones.
As Vice President Harris and running mate Tim Walz campaigned in southern Georgia, they also engaged in their first extensive interview since joining the race six weeks ago.
NBC News' Dasha Burns and Peter Alexander report.

After laying the wreath, Trump & Co. just barged to the gravesite 60 without authorization, literally pushing aside the cemetery official who tried to stop them, and proceeded to a photo-op with him standing between the graves, *smiling and doing a thumbs-up.* By the side of a serviceman's grave whose family *did not authorize that.* In violation of the cemetery's rules and federal law.
When this was known, the Trump campaign blamed the cemetery official, saying she is a mentally ill person - the Army had to issue a statement defending her. The lady declined to file charges - because she fears the reaction of Trump supporters.
She did her duty, and she fears you'll attack her for that. Let that sink in.
Another reason for her to fear you is how out of touch with reality you are: It was Trump who decided to deal directly with the Talibans and leave the Afghan government high and dry, it was him who reduced drastically the number of American troops and air missions, which allowed the Talibans to retake territory, it was him who fixed the date for leaving the country - when Biden took power, there was nothing he could do to stop the disaster, other than starting the invasion all over again, which was politically impossible. Never forget, leaving the Afghanis to fend by themselves against the Talibans was *Trump's idea.*

Trump ordered the release of 5,000 of the Taliban's most brutal fighters against the wishes of the Afghan government, and repeatedly ignored US intelligence reports that he Taliban were violating the agreement right up to the time our last troops left. Kamala had nothing to do with any of it.
Trump should go nowhere near any military cemetery, not only did he say that the Medal of Freedom is better than Medal of Honour, he called fallen soldiers SUCKERS and LOSERS, and Vance should step back for defending this, he's absolutely incompetent to be vice president, even if Trump stated that it's a position that doesn't make much of a difference, which is probably why he chose Vance. The fact that he went to Arlington Cemetery for political propaganda is disgusting.
