I wore this CD out when it came out. One of the first two CDs I got The other one was Reba Mcentire. This was back in 1995, I was 15, and the meaning of the songs have become more and more relatable over the 26 years since it's release.

Full circle-ish considering Madonna and Guy Oseary were instrumental in making sure Alanis would be able to release the album the way she wrote it. As I am a heavy metal lead guitarist who was just 6 months younger than Alanis I wasn't at all impressed with her music back then but after over 25 years came to realize she had much more musical tallent and more to say at such a young age than me or anyone else I ever met even up until now
It's a song about hope and staying positive, isn't it? We haven't got it all figured out just yet but we, the human race, are going to get there in the end. I hope so.

I never paid any attention to Alanis in the 90s, but I recently listened to this album for the first time and I loved it...this song is def a 10!
