Kip is great! We celebrated his birthday this weekend at Johnson Creek.

Thanks Steve and Kip. Awesome video. Kip really knows his stuff. Nice to know the wings can a high g load. Great info on air flow and balancing the cylinders. Also, just a crisp nice build! I’m inspired……Baggage compartment near finish today and final riveting tail cone top skins then I flip upside down. Landing gear and paint then flip up again.

Kip has a practical eye for innovations/modifications. Speed tape and scrap wood rudder trim. Beautiful. The fuel selector valve is such a good idea. The Cessna style quarter turn fastener cowling always bugged me. I just like being able to fully open the cowling during preflight like on a Bonanza or Cherokee. (Hmmm...I wonder if there's a market for a kit). The 'ebbs and flows' thing is very important with any project that lasts longer than a day. Like any relationship...you have to keep at it but sometimes, you kinda need some time to yourself.
I'm not engine surgeon but those inlets do look a wee bit on the teeny side but that air extractor lip looks like it would be very effective. I wonder if there's a market for an automatic cowl flap thingie in the experimental world.
The combined offering of short and long form vids is brilliant, my friend. The short one feels like a drive by to check out the lay of the land and we get to geek out with the long form. You going full Ted Bundy on this vid thing, amigo...non stop killing it. Thanks.

Kip seemed liked an awesome man with a wealth of knowledge in aviation. I'm enjoying the build series. One big thing that bugs me about the Rans S-21 and the Kitfox is the same but it's those cross bars that are in front of you near the windshield... I've got a bunch of time in a Citabria and love the clear view and the Vans RV15 looks promising with its unobstructed views too!

For engine cooling I decided to add a pair of electric cowl flaps I purchased from Anti Splat Aero. Theses really help on my RV 6A on taxi and climb out in warm weather.
