  • MILESTONE - The most challenging part of developing a closed-cycle liquid 🚀 engine is the turbopump. Today we reached all our E-2 engine LOX turbo-pump performance goals: pressure (320 bar), flow (25 kg/s), pump efficiency (64%), turbine efficiency (70%) during a full duration test (120 sec) at NASA Stennis Space Center
    Based on Soviet heritage RD-8 engine but with customized impeller removing the need for a booster pump and increasing efficiency. 3D printed and machined by Launcher in the 🇺🇸 - Likely the best rocket engine turbopump of its class/size.

    Hej launcher, what do you use to create backpressure on the pump outlet? More wondering how you are dissipating the 320 bars without having the combustion pressure of your engine and injector pressure drop helping you. Best Jop
