I have a 2006 Acura RL and a 2008 Acura RDX, both come standard with Acura's SH-AWD system, SH-AWD is a phenomenal all-wheel drive system, SH-AWD handles amazing in rain sleet snow ect. I can never have another car that doesn't have an intelligent all-wheel drive system & as amazing as Acura's SH-AWD system is it would be very hard to stray from Acura. I will say that the SH-AWD system in my RL seems to be a little my refined that the SH-AWD system in my RDX, there's not a huge difference but there is some difference, the RDX will slightly slip at times when the RL will not slip but it's just a quick slip then the AWD system catches it.
Clayton Crawford that’s awesome. I really like the older RL. A little slip might have something to do with the smaller tires on the RDX. I’m just hoping the MDX hangs strong for me... I’m pretty hard on it haha
@@ZachD I really love the 2005-2008 Acura RL (KB1) as well, it is a really gorgeous car and it drives phenomenally well! as far as the slippage on the RDX so I don't think it's the tires because the rims and the tires on the RDX are bigger than the RL, I know that the RL had the most refined version of Acura's SH-AWD at the time, then I'm sure around 2008 or 2009 the Acura MDX was given the same refined SH-AWD system. I know that the RDX and the TL did not have the same refined versions of SH-AWD, even up to 2017, now with Acura upgrading so much they may have the same refined versions of SH-AWD.
That's awesome. Yeah I was shocked when I first got it and turned off traction control and the back end was all over. So much fun. Im a little nervous my trans isn't gonna last much longer. 190k miles and Im pretty hard on it (exhibit A^). How many miles you have on yours. Any issues?
ZD Productions awww nice. I have an 01 and it doesn’t have traction control. I’m currently at 240k. I had the transmission rebuilt about 50k miles ago. She still runs healthy. I have no plans on replacing it. I’m turning this into my adventure car. I’m currently replacing all of the halogen lights into LED’s and I’m going to see what I can do about lifting it a few inches and putting some “re-treads” off-road tires on it
Just go one recently with 75K miles looks like it has just broken in. Gas mileage not very impressive but knowing the engine will come for another 150k is something else. What kind of tires do you suggest?
Im at 203k miles and still runs great. My issue now is the cats are going out and Im wondering if I want to spend the money to replace them. It will be a costly one for sure. Probably going to end up doing both cats and the timing belt...
Im looking to buy one of these at like 195K Kms. Do you think its still a good buy at this mileage? Im concerned with repair costs etc. Hoping to get honest feedback from an owner of this car. Thanks
195k kms = 121k miles. I bought mine at 135k miles and I have a 195k miles on it now. I have had no issues with it other than basic wear items (wheel bearing x1). I have heard not so great things about the transmissions and they cost a fortune to replace but mine has been great since I got it. This car has traveled all around the northeast US and has not missed a beat. I have no regrets with my purchase at all. If I had to cross shop it with anything it would be a Lexus RX - the same great stuff but probably a stronger transmission. Good luck!
I didn't see the point of your test by driving the same track all the time. What you're testing in your video is the tires and your driving skill, rather than the car itself. Since it's titled as 'snow driving', why not drive in the deep snow?
I get that...plows here in upstate NY are too good! Any snowfall they are all over getting it off the roads. So while we get a decent amount of snow the opportunities to drive in deep stuff are pretty minimal.
Yeah that not driving, if u deice like that in traffic, u are sure to get into an accident. This more like drifting and u can do that because there sre no other cars!
@@ZachD i own a 2011 MDX with 102k miles, love my car and the way it handles. Baffled because i am considering a new MDX but i dibt get how the new versions still are not fuel efficient and they have less horse power then my 2011

I live in Vegas and I take mine to the dunes all the time. She shreds through sand
