Great video fella…Having carp fished the Thames for 20yrs my best tip for you is to go in heavy with the particles. I think nothing of sticking 10kg-15kg at a time, sometimes more. It’s clear you have a load of other fish in that river so you’ll need a lot of bait to keep them on the spot. Good luck. Stay with it, you’ll catch 👍🎣
I've talked to somebody fishes for river carp on the Ouse and that's the sort of quantities of bait he was putting down. He averaged a fish a month apparently.
Nice vid. My first one was 20lb on local river 6am. On halibut pellet. My Mate prebaited night b4. A right beast. Thats 20 Yr ago. Had about 10 since. Definitely the ultimate river fish.
Bless you mate..don't beat your self up pal you put in more than enough effort pal and sometimes it doesn't happen..that saying the best things come to those who wait...Hope you get your price carp mate and tight lines pal..love your channel and if you ever want a day on the bank and wet a line mate let me no mate..great man you are pal.. I made a under water stick float other day mate took some doing but got there in the end and had a pike attack it other day..that's what it's all about putting the time and work in..tight lines keep up the hard work pal..🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣👊👊👊👊👊
Ive always been desperate to target carp on the ouse just havent found time to put in to it. Didnt realise they were in the town centre in such large numbers
I only fish for carp in rivers and canals its all i do all year round, i would say go at different times to see if you can follow there patrol and 100% keep it simple and strong tackle wise, some places pre bait will do good and other places it dont but i prebait every other day, bait wise i found that tiger nuts and luncheon meat are my best I have had them on boilers, but I’ve had more on tiger nuts, you will not keep canal and river carp in one spot it’s impossible there to nomadic in the rivers in the canals, just keep going at it and they will come, keep up the good work 👍👍👍
I've been getting em from the ouse for years mate. In fact I live on a boat! Top tip. No point baiting solely wi particle baits on the open river. It'll all be gone before captain carp comes by. Need summat that'll stay on bottom till they go by. Nuts and rock hard boillies required. Even then bream can eat it all.! It can be a slow job tho. There's 10 mile or so of river between the weirs! Good luck.
The barbel spot and the tidal stretch seem to produce the most carp from what I've heard. Although they're known to be in the Foss as well. There's no simple fix though. One day you'll be lucky.
Unlucky mate. Persevere and you will succeed. I would try bread crust or flake and prebait for a, hour with bread. Get them feeding confidently first before chucking any line in about just before dusk. Tight lines
That bucket of bait mate would feed1 bream My moto go big or go home I would use 20 of those buckets on the Thames Great video by the way One other tip keep these locations to yourself to many sheep 🐑 out there
I've fished a river local to me, on and off for the last three years, plenty of prebaiting likely looking swims along a 2/3 mile stretch, seen two, caught NONE...just a couple of bream for my troubles. But I hear rumours of carp being caught. I fish still waters to get some action but keep doing fairly regular trips on the river...it's gotta happen one day...surely....and how sweet will that day be...I don't care what size...just the thought of A RIVER CARP!!
Don't despair lad, if it was that easy we would all be called John wilson and it would be catching not fishing 😅 I'm currently 3 months in on an elusive thames barbel campaign, and although I'm in the right area but no luck. Plenty of river carp over the years, best advice I could give you is prebait boilies and corn for 2 days (about a kilo a day) a fish the third. Tight lines
@AdamsFishingAdventures I'm on the upper thames so what fish are here are big doubles but few and far between. That's the joy of it for me, if confidence starts draining then I go for a trip on the wye to get a bend in the rod and make sure the tactics are working. I'm going to have a night out on the river for carp next week, see how we get on. Tight lines
That was no were near enough bait mate and ya deffo need boilies in the mix all the smaller fish and especially bream will eat that particle in no time, and tbh mate it looked like they were pairing up getting ready to spawn, but it's deffo not impossible to catch them pal you just went the wrong way about it, but that's what fishing is all about always learning

Next season I'm going harder
Caught 2 in a match at acaster many years back,I never thought of carp in the Yorkshire Ouse.
Seems to be a decent proportion
I grew up in York many years back. Whatever happened to floating bread flake or crust?
Noooooo! I was really rooting for ya there😟
I'm sure you'll catch one soon, you deserve to catch 👏👏👏👍
I hope so to I'm about 150 hours deep 😅
2024 will be the year! Let's goooooo 😜✌️💜

It's just a case of hole long can you bare to sit not catching, took me 20 days to give up 😅 but to hold a river carp priceless

It's just the way it goes sometimes isn't it, how big of a barbel are you trying to catch? And I'll give it a go next year

Did you try right under ya feet ? Fish were there and people feed ducks swans close in !
To shallow right under your feet but did fish the margin alot
I'd be thinking about what they're most likely to be eating in the river. Bread from people feeding ducks and worms, maybe a bunch of worms.
A lump of bread would probably do the trick I reckon, your right
@@AdamsFishingAdventures I'm gonna give it a try too. That's the beauty of the Ouse, never know what you'll catch.

It is illegal to take fish from rivers?
unlucky, right plan, right methods, right techniques, just unlucky, still there's always next time
If I could of fished the 14th I'd of had one definitely

Slap a chunk of bread floating on the top, theyll scran that asa they see ut
Next time
Clearly no Europeans living local to you 😂 them fish would be gone where I’m living
Hopefully your river carp dream will come true for you next year 👍👍
