Loving the crawl at the bottom of the screen of a thunderstorm watch.
They actually had to say, "This is not part of the special. This is an actual weather alert".

I was 15 when this happened and lived in Baldwinsville. I remember hearing my stepdads scanner going off saying severe storms were coming to Onondaga County and then the power went out and it came. What I remember most was the Lightning reminded me of strobe lights

I remember that storm like it happened yesterday. I slept through it. This happened right before my 22nd birthday. Which was nov.2, 98. I was working at the cole muffler distribution center. The day before the storm. I remember it was at least 101 degrees outside. I'll never forget the damage it did

Wow I remember this storm vividly, I was 7 years old at the time. I lived on teal ave in syracuse, I remember a tree came down in my back yard as well. I remember not being able to sleep for awhile because of the storm, the lightening was amazing to watch. The next day it was bad on my block, part of the side walk was up rooted from the sidewalk. It was a crazy storm, I'll never forget it.

I was 18 year's old on the westside in Syracuse. It was pretty bad. Destroyed so much around me. Thankful me and my family made it out alive...

I was at my grandmother's house having a sleep over with a few cousins. One of my cousins was telling tales about thunder birds. I remembered thinking it was odd that people kept calling Grandma given how late it was. Where we were was fine--we were down in Madison county and there was barely any damage, but one of my best friends at the time who lived closer to Syracuse lost several trees, had house/barn damage, and no power for about a week.

I was 6 months old when the happened. According to my mother, I didn't wake for a single minute of the storm, even when my mom and dad brought me and my brother to the basement I stayed asleep the whole time. My brother was 2 1/2 years old at the time and vividly remembers going to the basement. Crazy what your brain can remember.

I was 5 years old about to start kindergarten my dad was going to let me sleep through it at that time I was scared of thunderstorms especially at night however I absolutely love them now anyway my mom said no she was worried that a tree or something would come crashing through the roof or window that is the only time I remember going down to the basement for a storm the basement in my old house was very sturdy you could survive anything down there my basement now would probably have flooded

I remember this. We had just gotten home from the fair. We lived on James Street at the time. It hit so hard, my wife thought it was a tornado, so we went into the basement with the kids and dogs and stayed there all night.

I was about to start my sophomore year of high school when this happened! It was so scary! It sounded like the windows in my bedroom were going to get sucked out! My dog was super freaked out and climbed into bed with me. I remember that week sitting in my friend's living room with batteries in the boom box listening to the Top 10 on the local radio, because we had no power for several days! And all the piles of trees mulched up in the parking lots all around the area.

We lived on Westmoreland Ave hill and it sounded like a train roar. We grabbed our dogs and ran to our basement.
We ate by candlelight for Labor Day weekend.

I was 7 and i lived in Baldwinsville when this storm hit. I remember how dark it was, it was never truly dark until that night. And i remember it being so loud like God was tearing apart the heavens, I thought the world itself was coming to and end.

I was 7 yo at the time and I remember my fam crowding onto our 2 story apartment building porch and we could see lightning balls forming on the street in front of us as well as straight up lightning striking in about the same spots. That was a stupidly terrifying night
