Thinking about retiring one day to Costa Rica. This is the first house I have seen that looks great reasonable price and is modern. Glad it sold Matt great house. Want to retire into the cooler mountains wondering about finding something like this in the mountains? I live in Florida I could care less if I ever see a beach again in my life!
Thanks for watching Justin! This was a special circumstance, to be clear. The home cost more than $99,000 to build and the sellers were motivated by a change in their circumstances. Some of the best mountainous areas in Costa Rica, or at least the preferred expat hotspots, include the areas around Arenal, San Ramón/Santa Ana, etc. Those areas can have higher price points (the more popular with foreigners, the higher prices will tend), so you might also look at areas around the central valley where there aren't as many expats.
Great question Jennifer! Coincidentally, I shot this video in the rainy season, and because the house had such an isolated location, I did not want to go back on a sunny day to get a better background. In Guanacaste we actually have 5-6 months of absolutely sunny weather per year during the dry season - skies are blue and we have breezes during that time. Guanacaste is special for that reason; everywhere else is rainier and although you would find some sunny weather no matter where you look in CR, Gte definitely has the most intense "sunny season," from December through April.
Yes thanks! This house is reinforced concrete block construction; here they use rebar from the foundation up through the walls to make homes much more weather- and earthquake-proof.
There is a large flat area all around the house Del, with plenty of room for another home and some food production. I can send a drone image or two to help out, if you email me at matt@cbtamarindo.com
Now sold! We have other homes and condos for sale, primarily in Playa Junquillal (nearby this listing) - at www.lat10realty.com - thank you for watching!
Looking for something similar price point is perfect. Shoot me a message if there’s anything else available in this price point or a little above is OK as well.
Jo Peart Costa Rica is not cheap the Gringos have driven up the prices!Thats actually a good price with the land.Ive built a house and remodeled a house construction materials are expensive and most tocos think their land is worth twice as much as it is especially if their dealing w Gringos! They think all Gringos are rich.Wait till this Pandemic is over and do your due dillegence there should be some deals to be had.

Thank you IB! Have been trying to "up my game" a bit to provide even better stuff for you!
alot of the videos of costa rica seem like there is cloudy skies. Is that the case there, or does it get sunny

Is the rest of the lot useable? Perhaps to build another home and room for some farming?
