@@ChristinaTaft She didn't escape. If you saw the episode, you saw that she was going undercover, but this scene would have explained it to the audience.
The scene at 6:36-7:06 made a lot of things more clear. It just felt too much and quite unnatural, even for her, to leave like that without a proper explanation. Felt like something was missing.
Shaw was the real threat. He used Decker (blackmail) to frame Chuck and release the Omen virus so he could take control of the CIA. And, obviously, get revenge on Sarah.
I didn't get it. There was the buildup of the idea that there was a government conspiracy from the S4 finale and it continued into S5E01, where Decker was the leader of a cabal of corrupt CIA agents. Then Decker dies and the threat is sort of extinguished. What was the point of that? Besides freeing Shaw, Decker didn't really do too much.
@ChuckMeSPN24 I don't think they should. If they did that, like what @gta3master2 said, it would be unrealistic why they didn't arrest or kill Decker straight away. And as for the part with Vivian, if they would have kept that scene, we wouldn't have had the element of surprise at the entrance of the hospital, where 'Pilot by Fanfarlo' started playing. And we wouldn't have been moved by that scene anymore as we know that there's something up Chuck's sleeve. Just my thoughts on it=)
@gta3master2 I would think it's because if that happened, there would be a fallacy(jump in logic) in that why didnt they just kill Decker there and then instead of leaving him and coming back in S5 to haunt them. :)

They should've left the bit where Yvonne is in the cell in. That episode confused me since the first time I saw it, until I saw the deleted scene.
Maybe you are right... they could have cut that scene like in half and kept it, but I guess they expect people to know that she escaped.

A lot of the time it's a time thing. Sometimes it's a producer being an a---- about keeping tension or a bigger chunk of time needed for other scenes.
