These two have the most precious bond. Thanks Johnny for being there for your friend. And thanks Steve O, your my sober hero. Next week I'll be 2 years. If Steve O's clean, then hell, we all can be!

Listening to Steve-O’s podcast convinced me to get sober. I’m 37 now. I have a 5 year old. My wife passed away and my best friend passed away. Good for you my friend. I stopped drinking about 12 years ago. Got healthy but unfortunately got cancer. If I had been still drinking, it would have killed me. Did lose one lung but life is so cool now. I have to note that Steve O getting sober and how good a friend Johnny was, made a difference in me deciding to stop. Funny but it's true. Steve being that tough to stop and Johnny for being a REAL friend without any reservations. A real friend. I had one too just like Johnny so I figured I'd just Cowboy up like Steve and get it done.
Most of the more severe illnesses happen to people because an upsetting event occurs in their lives taking them by surprise, unexpectedly, impacting first in the brain, then in the corresponding organ which that part of the brain controls. Met Knoxville when I was in 7th grade, he was just walking solo with headphones in and a Harpur college shirt. He passed right by us in the city. I was with my friends family, we were visiting the 9/11 memorial. I recocnized him, said I think that was Johnny. My buddy's dad told me to go run back and ask him. He was super nice, not a hint of annoyed, more surprised we asked him and was happy to take a picture with us. Dopest interaction with a celebrity and someone I thought was cool as hell at the time, and still do. Awesome to see him and Steve-0 both doing so well.
thanx for the share..i love hearing about the frequency of which regular folk get to interact with their heros in an everyday kind of manor. proves how similar we all are in a way i guess idk. but loved hearing about it either way.
That was probably Danny Knoxville his semi twin looking brother. Lives in NYC. He told his brother in a podcast he gets stopped all the time for photos thinking he's Johnny. Sorry bud
@Daniel Hollingsworth It’s true, I don’t know if Steve-O was a good son. There’s no apology you can give to your parents when you destroy your life with drugs and alcohol. The damage is done. Same way alcoholic parents can mentally scar their kids, alcoholic children can mentally scar their parents. Most alcoholics do what Steve-O did, they project appreciation onto friends more than their family because there’s some search for approval. Friends’ approval is somehow more important to them, possibly because it’s linked to why they were addicts in the first place. Humans are weird.
@@LuneyTune72 you should go look through the past year of videos on Steve O's channel. His dad is in multiple vlogs and was on his podcast. He absolutely appreciates and loves his dad and they seem to have a fun relationship. Don't make shit up
I'm not kidding, I got very emotional the literal first couple seconds into the movie where Knoxville personally thanks the audience for getting together them and their friends to watch the film because that's literally what my friends and I did and it just felt special.
I got a lil tear at the end where the Misfits was playing in the background of the chaos of the finale, made me feel like a kid again for a second watching Jackass/Wild Boyz back in the day lmao
I couldn’t name too many celebrities but these 2 I could spot from a mile away. You’re both true icons to our generation and loved by so many. Nothing better than seeing you both still here with us and doing great
Let's the people know it doesn't matter how far you fall. As long as you channel your inner steve-o or Johnny. You'll bounce right back up better than ever. Let other know. Don't channel your inner bam. Because you'll prolly just end up slammed.
I don't follow pop culture. Everything after 2010 is shit. All the best of everything already exists. And im saying this as a 32 year old. Fuck the new trends. Originals cant be beat. Everything these days is regurgitated, repurposed, reimagined emptiness. Cant beat the original in anything.
Steve loves Johnny so much you can just see how excited he is that’s why he’s basically telling his story for him 😂 that’s his brother for life, he literally saved Steve O’s life Johnny has always been a big brother to Steve and he’s always looked up to him as such
Kinda always felt like Johnny was *everyone's* big brother. The Jackass rock, who low key got down harder than ANY ONE OF THEM hahaha. The craziest s%#t in Jackass, you always knew Knoxville was gonna be the one doing it. If Knoxville was the older brother who felt like he had to mature and be a role model for the other brothers when the next one was coming... Bam was the youngest brother who got babied when no one else was getting babied because they were older. He got away with murder, and actually thought he was special, and maybe even better than the other brothers, because of it. This made him a spoiled brat that can't stop drinking and partying once he found out that he wasn't as special as he thought he was and that "high" disappeared.
@@danielnelson4881 He had a really bad TBI and is currently suffering the long term effects... After so many injuries it seems it has caused lasting damage.
Knoxville has always seemed like a genuinely good friend and you can tell Steve-O has always looked up to him. You can really see their friendship shine in Jackass Forever which is sweet. Feels good seeing all the guys back together again especially in a time like this.
By a time like this I meant covid and quarantine. I think it has taken a toll on all of us so it’s nice to see Jackass make a comeback since it reminds so many of us of our childhood or young adult life.
I would listen to hours on end of these two just reliving their memories. I don’t need a story, topic, or reason. Just these friends chatting. It makes me feel like I’m curled up in the corner listening to childhood friends relive their past 😂
I actually yelled "yeaaaaaaaaahhhhhh" out loud when Knoxville gave Steve-O credit for getting sober. It touches me so much when they talk about sobriety on the show because my mom never got sober. She just couldn't do it and we all suffered from it. I applaud anyone who gets sober.
Yes, being sober is great. But people shouldn't abuse alcohol or drugs to a point when they have to go to a rehab. U can enjoy life with couple beers or joints now and then. You are in controll, not the substance ( thats what they always tell 😅😀)
Feel ya dude. Whole family is suffering under my profoundly sick mother, and after years and years of trying to hold her up,to no gratitude whatsoever, I've made the decision to cut her out. It's better for my sobriety, and my remaining relationships are far healthier. My stepfather and I are raising my lil brothers to have full lives inspite of her black hole negative bullshit.
My heart goes out to you. I'm an amputee was addicted to heroin until my baby boy came into the picture and so many times Id hope I didn't make it out alive but glad I did. still gotta long way to go but don't we all
I feel you. My mom and oldest sister are addicts. Two of my younger brothers lived with me, grew up, and are on their own now. I have two more younger brothers that live with me now as well as my sister’s oldest. My older sister has my two other brothers (I have 6 little brothers 😅) and my oldest brother has my sister’s two youngest kids. We’ve all had to pick up the pieces and responsibilities that they couldn’t. I hope every day that the time comes where they can recover and it brings me so much joy to see people climb out of that darkness and into sobriety.
The love between these 2 really comes out when they talk about sobriety. Stevo your journey helped me changed my 8 year habit. I hope you see this man you were such an inspiration for me and a lot of people I know. Clean for 3 years in may!
Woah! Starting around 1:09:22 these dudes are really friends! I love this exchange. I’m really glad they got to say those kind, heart full words to each other!
You guys are just insane and that will never change glad to se you guys are being healthier and giving up the drugs we want you guys around and credit to you both you look silly healthy and still doing what you love and putting out you best work and proven end if if you guys can do it anybody can your both inspirational looking forward to what’s next thanks for sharing your joutney
Watching you guys at the end actually made me tear up. I grew up watching you guys like everyone else here, and now I’m about to be 41. I’ve always struggled off and on with substance abuse, and seeing how you guys have each other absolutely broke me. I don’t usually get emotional, but because I’m having a hard time right now, I am once again inspired by you guys. Steve probably won’t read this, but thank you man. I know you are helping others too.
Stay strong brotha! This is my moms account btw but I’ve been struggling too. I was on heroin for the past 6 or so years and shooting speedballs during the last year of those 6. I’ve now gone 6 months without any, “hard drugs”, (I’m still on suboxone and I take it LESS than I’m prescribed), but, I’ve never felt better! Just keep your head up, I know you can do this. Good luck man, peace! ✌🏽
Keep going, brother. It ain't easy staying sober, but I guarantee you that it's 100% worth it and it does get easier over time in my own experience. For me it was drinking, but a mantra that helped me in the early days can be applied to alcohol or drugs, whatever your thing may be: "I always regret drinking. I have never regretted not drinking". All the best to you.
@@loriroach4593 Please be careful with the Subs they are a nightmare to get off of. People are saying it's worse than dope, Good luck it really is worth it getting healthy.
I love how close Steve-O and Johnny are, so much so that Steve-O speaks for Johnny on a lot of questions and he has his own “version” of Knoxville’s life.
Stevo o and knoxville are seriously impossible not to love. All around good kind hearted guys and their friendship is amazing. I enjoy them even without the crazy stunts, just as great people
Damn that ending was awesome to see you give praise to Johnny for always being a good friend and checking in on all of your projects/giving feedback. It’s hard to find friends that do that.
@@chadchambliss4949 Johnny was there to support Steve-O back when EVERY member in Jackass wanted him kicked out do to his bad body order and attitude. Johnny believed in him, and insisted Steve-O stayed on show, which Steve-O was a homeless junkie on the street struggling to find money to eat at the time. Back on MTV cribs Knoxville was upset with Steve-O's bad health habits, diet, and way he lives his life. Knoxville was the only member in Jackass to show concern about Steve-O mental and physical state, the rest didn't like him and wanted him kicked out of the show. When Steve-O tried killing himself, Knoxville scheduled an intervention with the Jackass members wanting Steve-O to go sober and get his life back on track. That is why in the podcast he says he wouldn't be off drugs if it weren't for Knoxville. Steve-O sees Johnny as a Big Brother or Father figure and Knoxville sees Steve-O as a little brother or even adopted son.
Lol you understand Knoxville has been grey since 27, right? He literally dyed it during the first SHOW. Before the moves even started he was dying it brown. lmao 'embrace theri greys". Lets stop pressuring people into looking how we want, regardless.
These two seem like the nicest guys ever. Super humble, Johnny almost gets visibly uncomfortable whenever he receives praise, very much unlike most celebrities. Legends.
I’m in that generation where these two men were literally my whole life. Ever since I can remember these guys were on mtv. So glad this finally happened.
I watched the new Jackass on Sunday night. Went with a bunch of friends and we all loved it. Thank you for all the entertainment over the years guys :)
Through all of Stevo-o's messed up times- Johnny was watching and the intervention happened- and because of this we have this awesome podcast- bro's forever.
If you've ever been blessed in your life enough to have a mentor/big brother figure support the positivity in your life the way Johnny has Steve-o, it is truly one of the warmest things life offers. The words Steve-o said "your opinion matters so much to me....everything good in my life is because of you" resonate so much with me precisely because that's how I see the big brother figures in my life.
Nice interview, Steve-O I can see Johnny doing a serious role in a movie someday. He’s a well-spoken, very articulate dude..Not to mention one of the most FEARLESS Jackass members of all time. You two are definitely bros. The love between you guys is obvious and respectable. Way to pull yourself together, my man. Props to you too.
@@chriskirby3819 I think one of the things that made Dunn so special was his willingness to perform stunts nobody else wanted to do, from jumping into cacti, to SCUBA diving in poop, to shoving a toy car up his butt. Nonetheless, may he rest in peace.

Just wanna let you all know that 5 friends including myself went to the movies and watched J4ever. We haven’t laughed that hard in the theatre in a LONG time. Love you guys. It was worth every dollar.
37:43 I'm so glad he mentioned this because I never thought about it that way but he's *So* right. The goofy commentary after some insane shit into a walk into the camera into a fade to black is so iconic and specific to Jackass.
Johnny Knoxville, the only person on planet earth who can stay positive in any situation and see the good in everything no matter how bad. Johnny should make his own podcast/TH-cam channel
The song sticks in my head to this day from jackass. "If you're gonna be dumb you gotta be tough". You guys are tough just for doing the shit you do! Such a good interview, long overdue.
great wrap up. it's exactly what you want to see amongst your buddies you've gone through some shit with but unfortunately for many of us we don't get to see that (people drift away, change completely, die, end up in jail, or stay mad at each other) so it's nice seeing it with these characters we've in a way known for so long through the entertainment they've created. great to .see the maturation, mutual appreciation, gratitude...just fully wholesome
Just saw Jackass Forever last night and It was absolutely legendary. I haven't laughed that hard in a very long time. Thank you guys for all the years of shenanigans ❤
Honestly? I enjoyed it but imo it was nowhere near as good as the other 3. The actual stars did very little at all I felt lke almost every clip was danger Aaron or the new guys. I also felt like as brilliant as the stunts were it's all stuff we'd seen before. Sounds harsh, I enjoyed it. But wasn't what I hoped
I started off thinking the movie was disappointing mostly because of the new cast. 20 minutes in I laughed the rest of the movie. These guys are cartoon characters.
My cousins took me when I was 15-16 to see Jackass 3D, I had been getting into some trouble and had to go stay at my grandmas for the summer out of state. That memory is still as vivid as the day it happened, and I got to take my 15yr old nephew to Jackass Forever yesterday. I could tell his life was changed forever. Thank you guys so much for being a part of my best memories

@Daniel Hollingsworth wdym?
@Daniel Hollingsworth Well that was a level of self awareness I've never seen. Good on ya
@Daniel Hollingsworth lol

By a time like this I meant covid and quarantine. I think it has taken a toll on all of us so it’s nice to see Jackass make a comeback since it reminds so many of us of our childhood or young adult life.
Johnny Knoxville saying "We're not that tough" is like the Hulk says He's not that strong!
Or the guys in the climax of Beerfest saying, “we’re not that drunk!!!” They’re not that drunk!!!!! THEY’RE NOT THAT DRUNK!!!!!
Steve-O is on one of his happiest versions when he's next to Knoxville. They're the embodiment of the word lovely.
God bless brother

It's called drugs
Most of the more severe illnesses happen to people because an upsetting event occurs in their lives taking them by surprise, unexpectedly, impacting first in the brain, then in the corresponding organ which that part of the brain controls. The end of WWI had absolutely everything to do with the Flu and lung TB outbreak that occurred killing millions. In nature, the biological conflict linked with a territorial fear (just what it means-a fear in your territory, your home, your community, etc.) is a widening of the bronchia (tissue loss). Your body attempts to widen your bronchia in order to allow more air into your lungs to give you more strength and energy to fight to keep your territory safe. Stay with me.......The biological conflict linked with a death fright impacts the lungs. The lungs attempt to grow larger in order to allow more air in because breath equals life, as we all know. No breath equals death.
While you are in the fear or death fright conflict, you notice no symptoms of “disease”, except you have cold hands, cold feet, you can’t sleep, you awaken at 3 AM every night, you have little appetite. During the war, millions of people were in fear of the bombing of their homes and cities where the war was most active. Fearing for their lives, their loved ones in the war, their ability to survive. The food in the stores was sparse due to shortages. This lasted for 4 long years! The longer the conflict, the worse the healing phase. Within 2 weeks of the German Chancellor announcing the end of WWI, these millions of people ALL went into the healing phase all at the same time. It is during the healing phase that you experience symptoms of illness! What is the healing phase of the bronchia widening? Severe bronchitis, pneumonia. The body attempts to refill this lost tissue and you experience inflammation, fever, coughing, body aches, fatigue, etc. What is the healing phase of the extra lung tissue that grew? Decomposing of the tissue by TB bacteria and fungi. The symptoms of this healing phase are: severe coughing up of blood and tissue, fever, inflammation, severe mucous, body aches, fatigue. During this decomposing of the extra tissue (tumor), the body expels a lot of protein, and without replenishment, severe protein loss can result in death. Antibiotics did not exist yet. If TB bacteria does not exist in a person or they have been vaccinated against TB (big mistake), then the tumor will simply encapsulate and become dormant and not harm you. Who died during the Spanish Flu? Mainly the poor who could not afford to buy meat and proper nourishment, and the people who were directly impacted by the bombings and destruction of their homes.
Millions of people suffered fear and death frights during the fighting of WWI, and millions of people all went into healing at the end of it. Not everyone was affected because not everyone suffered the same way.
It’s not a “flu”, it’s not something you “catch”. It’s biological, meaningful, and unavoidable. One hundred years later, a Fear Campaign begins, using the media to spread it......

Life has been beating the living hell outta me and listening to these guys talk brought me back to such a good place ! Y’all have been massive roll models in my life , sobriety and fatherhood ! Thanks guys 🙏
I’m with you Jamie, life’s been beating the crap out of me too lately…STILL sober no matter what now, 2 years this year! Hang in there dude and I will too!!!
You got this. God has already decided it by giving you a reason to live and if it’s beating the hell of you then something awesome is about to happen for you and he’s gotta test you first. Trust me, I was you 5 years ago how you’re feeling anyways and can’t help but reach out and tell you it’s about to get great and that’s why you feel how you feel. Keep pushing!
This makes my heart so full watching this. You really can tell what a genuine relationship they have, and how much steveo really cares for him and credits his success to Knoxville. I can’t wait to see the jackass movie in theatres next week wearing my steveo hoodie! ❤️🤟🏼
Steve-O.... The send off to Johnny at the end was damn near a tear jerker.... great podcast!
Growing up with these guys, I 100% did not expect these guys to be around for very long considering all the crazy stuff that they’ve done. Glad to see them still alive and doing well!
You guys inspired me when I was younger. Not to hurt myself, but to not be afraid of life and the joys of camaraderie
SteveO: people been begging for this one. This podcast is going to do unbelievably well.
Johnny: oh, well we hope so.

Knoxville is so humble
@@thejbo777 yes indeed he sure is 🤙🏾
@@thejbo777 damn. Must be amazing to know him personally. Any other deep insights you dare provide?
@@jking0.o121 bro calm down I’m just saying what I’ve seen of him, I could be wrong.
great stuff Steve-O. I love the part at the end where you thank Johnny for being part of the best things in your life - and then Both of you are so humble about it. That's how you know you are good and are on the right path with your sobriety. Good to see Johnny doing ok. I can tell he still has some struggles after that big, sick bull hit. You guys are both legends. God Bless you and keep you both.
I totally want Steve-O as my best friend. Love everything about his story, character and just damn lovely. Keep up the podcast. Appreciate you’te caring of people you interview and your raw shares. 😎
