    There are about 1% as many women in wrestling as there are men. It is difficult to compare them on the same scale. Great vid. Agree with most choices.

      And it can be argued that Burroughs competed in an age with a higher caliber athlete. Imo it was also a deeper weight class on a world scale

    • @johnalmondbro8732
      @johnalmondbro8732 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Jordan has one Olympic title and if John stuck around there is no question he would have more world titles. As mentioned he retired with 6 world + Olympic titles at 26. Burroughs had 3 world + Olympic at that age. I also think the Olympics is substantially harder than worlds.
      You could make the argument that the USSR only getting one entrant means everything pre 1992ish should not count the same, in which case I could see you ranking Burroughs #1, but I don't think Burroughs sticking around forever really makes a strong case for GOAThood. Its not like JS was not the best in the world at age 27.

    I have enjoyed the whole series. Combining men and women in a list like this makes little sense in any sport but especially wrestling. Think about swimming or track. Is Ledecky greater than Phelps? Is Flo-Jo better than Bolt? Gymnastics where the events differ; looks like Simone B is top. Make two lists. Here's the thing. And I know it is controversial, but THAT very fact is a problem. There is absolutely no room for inclusion on an EXCLUSION based list. This list is the ethical epitome of exclusivity. You cannot include women on the list. Ever. There is no version of a top 1000 where a woman could crack the list. That is conservative and everyone knows it. A decade of state champs at all divisions of all states will produce more wrestlers at a higher level than women can challenge. There are noteworthy women, but the list is already reduced immensely of deserving men where there aren't enough spots available for everyone.
