My nieces were inspired by them and went on to learn fiddle and voice, and are in a bluegrass/gospel band, called Simply Strings, located in Boone NC. A few years ago the Peasall Sisters announced their breakup as a band...so sorry to say. But does anyone know if they have started up again?
You don't need bloody Christianity to appreciate this music. Being this pious is tantamount to child abuse, and I wouldn't be surprised to hear some horror stories to surface from this family. Still, this kind of gospel music is worth preserving, and the Peasall Sisters do it well. I feel so conflicted listening to this.
Personally I am an atheist. But I am not evangelical about it. Yes there are cases where religion is abused. But some people are happier for being religious, and some people are better for being religious. Examples of that include Mahatma Ghandi and Archbishop Tutu. I was taught to be religious when I was a child, and whilst I wasn't persuaded I wasn't abused either. When I listen to music like this and performances like this I am glad for religion.
